November 7th was National Lymphoma Awareness Day! We celebrated the end of one of our patient's chemotherapy on the 6th. 25 weeks of cancer treatments and we are in remission! Lymphoma is one of the most common canine cancers, so for National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day, we wanted to talk a little about it. Lymphoma is caused by many different factors but can present most commonly with swollen lymph nodes. As it progresses, it can cause lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea. Early intervention is very important, so if you notice that your dog feels swollen around their chin, their back legs, or in their armpits-please let us KNOW. November is also Senior Pet Month! We LOVE our SENIORS here at EAH and are committed to helping our fur babies live longer!

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.
You can find the full update in the Nov/Dec issue of JAAHA, or check out the full 2022 Canine Vaccination Guidelines here: aaha.org/canine-vaccinations

During National Technician Week, we want to celebrate our incredible team that keeps everything running smoothly!

• Maria, with over 10 years of experience, has dedicated her life to this profession, and we are incredibly grateful for her commitment.
• Kenzie, our clinic manager with 18+ years of experience, ensures everything flows perfectly behind the scenes, allowing us to care for your fur babies.
• Kaylee is our talented groomer, but she also steps in as a tech and receptionist when needed, and we’re so thankful for her versatility and support!
• Haley, our amazing receptionist, keeps us organized throughout the day and even jumps in to help as a tech when required. We appreciate her dedication and service.
• Lilly, the newest addition to our team, leads in rooms, treatments, and kennels. We’re lucky to have her on board!

We are so proud of this wonderful team and their hard work in keeping everything running smoothly! Help us make them feel special this week!!

Additional kennels added for evacuee’s pets! Free of charge while they ride out the storm. We’ve already seen an evacuee from North Carolina and want to be able to help people/pets as much as we can! We are putting bags together for evacuees that includes dog food/heartworm/flea-tick prevention/water/etc for pets and their owners. If you have additional space for dogs/horses and/or would like to help in anyway, reach out to the front desk at 334-687-6858.
