⚫️SPOT⚪️

I’ve got a backlog of dogs since November I have to post so hopefully I find the time to do those 😂 starting with spot because I really like how he turned out. Funny story how I met this client, spot was taking himself on a walk around the neighborhood one day and I noticed him walking. He seemed out of place and I hadn’t seen him around our area before so I grabbed a lead and went to pick him up to try and find his owner. Right as I got to him his owner came by on a scooter calling for him. She told me he had slipped out and took himself for a stroll. He seemed overdue for a haircut so I gave her my card and the next week she called me out to get him fixed up. His family said they couldn’t even believe he was the same dog 😂 I’m glad I had the chance to meet spot, he was super laid back and easy to groom. Hopefully I won’t see him walking around anymore alone😅

👴🏻 DUKE 👴🏻

Duke was a jolly old man. He loved al the rubbing and massages and, although nervous on the table at first, sat very well for his groom! You can tell he’s done this many times before. He came out looking super shiny and with WAY less hair😂 I was worried we wouldn’t get past the constant shedding because it just kept coming! Cant wait to see him again 🙂

Pirate looks like such a stud in this photo wow, a model. And pepper is looking so regal, like a queen about to banish you to a dungeon😂 Each time with these two is pleasant can’t wait for next time 😁

🎩CHAPPY🎩

Chappy…we’ll he took forever. Less because of bad behavior and more so because doodles just take forever. He didn’t like being brushed or touched near his face really at all but we persisted and made it work. He DID love the mid and after groom playtime. He was a super sweet dude who’s just a little mouthy, but what else could you expect from a young doodle 😂 I’m pretty proud of how he turned out looking considering we were fighting over his face/ears/neck for a solid 40 minutes 😭 looking more like a doodle now and and he can actually SEE!

🎀STELLA🎀

Stella is from within the family so I may have bias on how cute I think she turned out 😂 she got mainly a facial trim which she perfectly sits for 😍 love that. We definitely deepened our bond I believe through this groom, every time I walk into her house she barks at me and is terrified as if it’s the first time she’s meeting me again. ..To be fair she’s that way with a lot of people 😅 but we had a lot of moments of her licking me after showing her I am trustworthy and won’t harm her. I think she turned out adorable and can’t wait to do it another time! :)

🌞 BAILEY 🌞

Bailey is basically a ball of sunshine. He was loving on us the entire appointment and was such a joy to groom. I was actually okay with how his butt turned out and I’m crazy when it comes to shaping Aussie butts (they are so flat 😭) His parents had their house fully decked out in Halloween decorations and it was so cool to see! Looking forward to seeing them again :)

🌥GINGER & AVA⛈

Their emojis represent how the weather of the groom went as it proceeded 😭 Luckily Ava was already done and Ginger was getting close by the time the downpour came in. While Ava wasn’t enthusiastic about the groom and tried to bolt a few times they were both sweethearts. Ginger was a little bit of a baby though 😂 she had to be carried like one to have her nails done. (Last photo) I’ll see these girls again in two weeks and I’m not mad about it :)

🎾 LAKOTA 🎾

About a 120 lbs of puppy (he’s almost an adult but not quite). However he was so well behaved for a young golden doodle. He still had a few doodle tendencies around the face and feet but he is definitely used to grooming and likes it sort of. He looks like a giant teddy bear too so how could I not want to groom him 🥹 I loved all the side eyes he gave, and how much he licked me to show me we were now friends after first being weary when we came in. See you in a bit Lakota!

🥜 PEANUT 🥜

Peanut was an older dude who was very used to the grooming process. He gave me little trouble on the table thankfully, yorkies can be terrors sometimes 😅 His anxiety about the situation started to come down as the process continued and he relaxed into what was happening mostly, I’m so proud :)

🐼 PANDY 🐼

PANDY is (almost) 5 months. For a 5 month old puppy she is incredibly smart and knows a few commands already. Whatever mom is doing at home to train is definitely paying off! This was her first grooming experience and she still is a puppy so of course there was some struggle between us, however she still had several moments of sitting still for 5+ seconds at a time to allow me to complete her bath & trim. She gave me these beautifully modeled after photos In the sun. Neither of us had a choice really but to be in sun. 😅 There was no option for shade and it’s SoCal 🤷🏼‍♀️so we hid as much as we could behind a column in front of the front door. note to self: be better about putting your sunscreen on in the morning, you work outside a lot😂

🇩🇪 VADER 🇩🇪

Vader gets the German flags as he starred in the film “Weiner dog Internationals” (2017) and was the German dog in that film! He was an absolutely lovely dog to work on and a fast favorite for Freddy. He was very happy and couldn’t resist much during the groom even if he wanted to…he is quite chunky in retirement😅 His coat felt like a velvet rabbit when he was done and I wished I could have stayed to hug him he looked and felt like a stuffed animal 😭 hope to see this little man again!

🎸MILEY 🎸

Smiley Miley was the sweetest pittie mix. She hasn’t had a bath in a long while due to her mom being older so she got a full spa treatment today, including nails done 💅🏻 her mom was a joy to talk to and it was so nice to meet her. My assistant/bather Freddy took the lead today on her groom and I’m definitely seeing their improvement in bathing & drying skills. high five to that! Their comment from her groom today was “why does her fur never end😭”..you’ll get used to it soon pal don’t worry 😅

🐓 MAX🐓

I put chickens because this family has 2 and max loves to play with them and hang out with them so I found it fitting :) max is a 6 month old yorkie mix he unfortunately got into some rat trap glue and his parents couldn’t get it off his paws and portions of his face. So in the rain (though under a cover mostly) we worked to get him clean and looking cute! He was definitely wiggly for the HC, but I did get moments of him holding still while being held by a family member, enough to get through it! His family loved the scruffier look of his face and since he was wiggly anyways we kept it mostly messy up top but enough hair away for him to see :) hopefully he stays out of the glue and I get to meet him again!

🗣ECHO🗣

echo is one of the chillest huskies I’ve done to date. He barely moved, never once screamed at us, and really was fine with the entire process. All at 10 months old!Love that for a husky client! Only thing that sucked was the heat. 😅 shedding husky hair flying everywhere in 103-105 F heat 😵‍💫 thankfully echos owners are awesome people and bought us an entire gallon of water and ice to have during the appointment :) looking forward to seeing this dude in Oct!

She was SOO much better today than she has been at last appointments and I’m so glad 😭😭 finally coming to an agreement with her on getting groomed. Worked with Freddy today on bathing and drying techniques to improve the quality of the groom. How did we do? Is she looking fresh 🤩

🎾ROLLIE🎾

I put tennis balls for this dude because it feels like he’s at a tennis match with how much he moves his head from side to side 😂 he really has no attention span for almost anything and has never had a full professional grooming. So he had no idea why I was trying to get him to stay still. He has definitely been the most difficult dog I’ve had since doing housecall (not in my career though), he tried to snap for a lot of motions and tools and was constantly moving around. However I split the appointment into two days and because of this was able to complete him. I did about 80% of the groom on the first day and then his face and small touch ups on the second. I hope as the weeks go one he gets more comfortable with the process and starts to relax around me more. He’s a very nice dog who just loves to roll around in the dirt and play. I hope we can become friends Rollie!

🥹 Doja 🥹

Miss Doja is back on the feed, this time we did a bath and trim and she behaved so well! There was a clear difference in comfort and trust from the first to the second appointment (7 weeks in between). I was so proud of how well she stood the entire time. I’m so glad I can offer her a low stress experience, it makes it easier on both of us. Her mom kept telling us how she couldn’t be groomed at salons anymore because of her age/temper during grooming sessions. She only bared teeth once today during the bath but that was the only mishap and I was expecting it. Overall I’m very proud of her progress and can’t wait to see her and her little head nods next groom 💖

This post you get BTS shots and you see I have another person with me now, for clients who follow me this is Freddy. They are my new assistant and you can expect for them to probably show up with me at future grooms. All to make your appointments faster and more efficient/safe for your pups🤩

👁👅👁 DINO 👁👅👁

I chose this emoji set because I believe dino (dee-no) just embodies it completely. His baseline emotion is just tongue out happy, maybe a thought or two but not many😂 it was honestly such a pleasure getting to groom him. He really only put up any fuss over his feet and I got that resolved pretty quickly with a muzzle so he couldn’t hurt himself. His mom likes an easy groom too so it went by quick which I always appreciate😌 I was happy though because she mentioned he’s never come home with his mustache/mouth area looking like that and she really enjoys it because “it makes him look like a little man”😂

🌺 MAISY 🌺

Maisy belongs to my aunt, she’s super sweet and a tad timid. She sat mostly really well for the entire groom which I appreciated cause I was using a 40 blade and that can be intimidating next to so many vital areas. She waited and extra 2 weeks for me to groom her and was quite fluffed out by the time I was able to go down and visit (they live about 2 hours from me). Unfortunately her top knot was in an uneven spot from her last groom but we got it mostly evened out and it should be perfectly round by next groom :) Seeing her happy face after I was done made me smile, so I hope it does the same for you!

I groomed another pup here In Mexico 😂 this is Nala. She is the dog of another family member of my partner who had some matting and needed her coat taken down by about half. This one was definitely more difficult without my normal tools/setup though. She was definitely more reactive than the first 3 I did and tried biting every time I got close to her feet/legs. It was an interesting experience to say the least 😅 I was working with my limited knowledge of Spanish and Google translate to try and communicate with her mom on how to help me get the groom done. At some points I had to just hand the scissors to mom to cut down some areas because she snapped every time I got close. Because of her reactiveness and not having my normal setup she wasn’t given a bath so we just did a dry cut as is. At least her matting is off and now mom knows how to prevent her hair from matting in the future :)

Grooming even on vacation 😂 I’m currently on a 10 day vacation in Mexico to visit my partners family. My partners grandma tries her best grooming her dogs at home but they can only come out so good, she’s old and it’s difficult for her understandably. I offered to clean them up for her because she had a starter grooming kit with some clippers and the most stiff pair of scissors I’ve ever used 😂 but it worked! I got them all even’d out and cleaned up :) I did their HC portions after eating dinner with the family hence the dress and heels. Lobita is the first dog shown and the one on the table, Pantera is the black one (and the most wiggly of the 3), the last and most nervous is Estrella. Estrellas coat was actually super interesting because I originally thought she was an extremely dirty white dog. Turns out her coat is intermixed white and brown so she just looks forever dirty even when freshly washed 😂For never going to an actual grooming salon I was surprised by how well they sat for me. You can tell how hard their mom has tried to keep them groomed despite her age.

🪨 ROCKY & BRONX 🏙

These two are first and foremost: adorable. Secondly I loved the bond they had so the one another. They are definitely bonded brothers. As German/Husky mixes they are bound to be a devilish duo in mischief during those teenage years 😂 It was so fun getting to meet them and I think if appointments are kept up with can definitely grow to be good on the table, which is always the dream for any type of GSD/Husky I take on. They will do/ tolerate anything for a peanut butter treat too 😂 so that’s always a plus. Swipe to see cute “you got any games on your phone” vibes 🥹

👵🏻 Kookie, Brandi, and Chloe 👵🏻

Al 3 of these girls are older, but Brandon and Chloe especially. Chloe is 17! All 3 of these girls hadn’t been groomed in a long time and were, for a lack of a better term, a little crusty 😅 the two oldest being 15 & 17 there was only so much I could do to try and make them look pretty, this appointment was definitely a comfort groom one. All 3 had some degree of matting throughout their coats I had to work on. Thankfully I was able to get all matting off and clear their faces of fur that was in their eyes/mouth. Their parents were very thankful and their aunt (the client) was the sweetest woman who even gifted me some of her old equipment since she is also a mobile freelance worker. I was honestly pretty nervous for this appointment because old & yorkie usually spells bad news but only one of them (Chloe) put up a big fight and her mom was there to hold her to help me get anything I needed done. 🏵 DOJA 🏵

I’m DEFINITELY behind on posts so I’ll be trying to catch up in the next few days. Starting with Ms. Doja here. She’s very old and has a lot of old lady problems going on so needed a groomer at home to keep her comfortable and go slow and gentle with her. She’s a mini American Eskimo and has the softest fine fur. While she was not named after Doja Cat she’s giving serious Doja vibes with that second pic 😂 it was so nice to meet her mom and I can’t wait to go back and see her little face again 🥺

🦀 SEBASTIAN 🦀

Sebastian is a very vocal husky, true to his people 😂 his parents sought me out because petsmart was wanting to split his groom into two separate days because they could not dry him at their salon. However being in an environement where he felt safe and calm he allowed me to do the full service groom, not without letting me know he was unhappy though. I like to say he tolerated the process, because he still did give me a kiss near the end which surprised his parents because he usually doesn’t even kiss them that often, let alone a stranger. We had quite a few conversations back and forth during his groom and I feel he appreciated that even though I did not stop the service at least I listened to him complain and sympathized with him😂 the 4th picture is his before, not a crazy before/after but he is so much shinier and fluffier once clean😍

🏴‍☠️PIRATE 🏴‍☠️

Pirate is a Dogo Argentino and one of the most lovable big guys 😭 he had, had a great 24 hours as his dad informed me the night before the groom they had accidentally left 2 lbs of meat outside by the barbecue and he ate all of it overnight…including some of the sides that were still lying about 🥴 The very next day I came over and give him so many massages during his bath in his pool…he was a happy dude. I loved doing this groom, I have a soft spot for the big “intimidating” short hair breeds🥺 scroll to see me attempting to get him to take a picture for me 😂 the last photo is his before picture in his pool. I wish he was in the sun for that one though, because you really can’t grasp how filthy this dude was from that picture 😭 his favorite past time is rolling in dirt…so you can imagine how dark the water in that pool got as I bathed him.
