Buddy needs a foster πŸ’•. He was tied to the Rescue Ranch Yreka gate with a cut leash, a little bag of Kibbles n Bits, and a bowl of water in the middle of a hot day. This sweet soul is so full of love and doesnt understand why hes here, yet quietly waits in his kennel for his family.

Buddy is very overweight, has troubles with his rear acl's, and is going to the vet this week for evaluation. Hes likely going to need surgery but will have to slim down a little first. He gets around with a bit of a gimp right now, but hes just the gentlest love. His head is classic lab, his heart is all lab, and I can just see the rest of his bloodlines anxious to be seen underneath those layers of kibbles n bits.

Id love Buddy to be in a foster with a yard to toodle around in all day, a family to shower him with love and short walks, maybe a gentle canine friend to play with him until hes light enough to have surgery. The foster could be a foster-to-adopt and his medical is covered. Loves and snuggles for free.

Where are my wonderful pnw lab families for this guy? Im coming up to Oregon this Sunday 9/8 and want him on a big poofy bed on Sunday night.

Please send us a PM with a number to reach you, and Thank You for choosing rescue 🫢

Welcome to Meghans House, Denise 🫢
1yr, f, little black and white cupcake

This precious little girl is a happy find here at Rescue Ranch Yreka. I did a vet run with this sweetling on board and decided to fit her in our little house instead of the recovery ward just so I could show her to you. Shes 1, utd on everything, gets her couple of pink stitches out in a day or three, and is ready to go home.

Shes been in the house with us about a week and is crate-leash-house trained, shares space with my gsd and aussie, has a great daily routine, is quiet as a church mouse, and gave me elated happy dances with a waggy tail and happy smile on day 5.

Im coming up to Oregon 9/8 and down to the bay area 9/15. PM us if youd like to chat about and meet her πŸ’•πŸ’•

I am deeply grateful to our rescue village for your tireless efforts in providing aid and support to those in need. Because of you, Koda is safe at home, Rescue Ranch Yreka, fed, tucked in, and sound asleep tonight.

It takes many moving parts for every rescue pup from beginning to end, and several angels' stepping stones along the way. Koda came to Rescue Ranch from the illegal pot farms of Siskiyou County last summer, and caught my eye as a great candidate for our foster-to-adopt programs. Just a 6mos pup at the time, Koda had two outstanding fosters with us and found a phenominal, super adventurous adopter in our beloved PNW. Koda had been to classes at UofO, was a campus celebrity, went everywhere and did everything with her foster families. She has it all - obedience, brilliance, socialization, and shes gorgeous to boot.

Imagine our shock to receive a 'final notice' notification from our chip company and a shelter all the way up in Warrenton - by Portland - on Friday. Koda had been 'at large' and picked up. We immediately called Kodas adopter....to be told she'd GIVEN HER AWAY IN MAY. I.lost.my.mind.

Let me spell it out for you. A stray dog without a chip, picked up by a shelter, has 3-5 days to be reclaimed before becoming the property of the shelter. A chipped dog usually has 10. Once the property of a shelter, any dog can be adopted out, sent to rescue, or legally euthanized. In this nationwide overpopulation crisis we are in, even the most beautiful, highly adoptable, sweetest family dogs are being euthanized in record numbers. Koda is a jet black, now adult, nondescript little shepard mix - not the highest on a shelters marketability list. But beloved by all of us. Despite our lifetime return policy, this adopter not only put Koda in the pipeline by giving her away, damn near gave her a death sentence.

By Gods grace Koda landed at the Clatsop County Animal Shelter where the amazing staff really went the extra mile to find us from her chip. They first called the adopter, who Koda was registered to, who told them first she'd given Koda away and forwarded the new owners information to them -- which turned out to be invalid 🀬. How incredibly lucky Koda didnt end up a bait dog in a fighting ring or a fate equally devastating. People - do not give your animals away. Clatsop Animal Shelter found our name on the microchip and contacted us directly. Three times a charm and this sweet shelter deserves wonderful recognition for their staff and dedication!

Now to get our girl back home! Our MH community really came together in big ways -and fast- for her, and I am beyond grateful. I put out an emargency plea and within an hour or two we had a plan. Thanks to our brand new MH family, Harrison drove from Portland to Warrenton to retrieve Koda the minute the shelter opened this morning, then drove her to meet up with Jake just south of Portland for her next leg. Jake and Shari are Kodas second foster family and were there when we met her adopter last year. Koda is near and dear to all of us but entwined herself around a few special hearts. Jake drove from Corvallis to meet Harrison up by Portland, then headed south with Koda to meet me in Coburg. While they were coordinating the northern end I was racing up from our homebase in Yreka.

Long day for everyone but Koda is home safe and protected by an army of guardian angels watching over her. She is one of the lucky ones. Hug your pups tonight and give them an extra squeeze from me, from Koda, and every rescue pup out there waiting for their families too. πŸ«ΆπŸ’•πŸ™πŸΆ

Eternally grateful for our amazing community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart - WE GOT THIS COVERED ❀️. This time tomorrow our Koda will be home.

EMERGENCY TRANSPORT HELP NEEDED for our Koda girl who landed in a shelter up north. We have the first leg covered to retrieve her from the Clatsop Shelter in Warrenton and start south, and Im headed up to Coburg first thing in the morning to bring her home, but we need help bridging the transport gap from south of Portland to me in Coburg πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™.

Shelter opens at 930am and Harrison can bring her to her next angel from there. Shes a 1yr absolutely wonderful little black shepard who didnt deserve being given away and then dumped. Shelter said shes absolutely wonderful but has been seen in the streets for some time. Her adopter claims she lost her house and gave her away in MAY (our lifetime return policy notwithstanding).

She looks like our Yani and Yang girls so i added their photo for effect, and a map of where the shelter is. Harrison is in Portland and can retrieve her and head back south.

Please, can one of our MH friends help?

Eddie, what have you done now?πŸ˜…
I GOT ADOPTED!!
Our last Youth Training Team graduate - Eddie, - teased another playmate a bit too much and got socked in the nose. Here we are at the vet, just in case, and Doc says hes going to be fine. A week or so of amoxy and he gets to be in the main house with us.... lucky you! Eddie not only went through the 5 day youth traing camp, graduating with honors, he now gets to be fostered in our home. Smart boy that he is, he already goes outside to potty, walks great on leash, has cute basic puppy commands, and is socialized with lots of other puppies and people.

Eddie reminds me of my beautiful Josh (also available for adoption). Hes submissive, sweet, affectionate, wants love and cuddles hugs and kisses anytime theyre available, and hes just the softest, floofiest, lap puppy.

We thought the litter might be aussie, border collie but I have a feeling little Eddie being all black and similar to Josh, might have a smidge Pyranese or lab-pyr in him. Hes very soft natured with a gentle spirit (he fell sound asleep on the exam table and is now dreaming in my lap at the vet). He will make a wonderful companion for anyone in need of lots of loves and snuggles.

Eddie (needs a new name) and is available for adoption. 4mos old, male. To inquire, please pm us a bit about yourself with a number to reach you and we can give you a call, and, as always, thank you for choosing rescue 🫢

πŸ’•Patrick is available for adoption πŸ’•
5mos m blue-eyed brindle pittie x

Patrick is the sweetest singleton, Winnie-the-Pooh personality little man. Hes everything - dog and people super social and friendly, child-proof, travels everywhere, rolls with everything asked of him, is loved and it just shines right through him to everyone he meets. Hes been to the Childrens Reading Program, Bohemia Park days, adoption events, handed off to children and families to play with, has lived in the main house with us and lots of other dogs, and is currently having a grand time in foster with a bff previous adopter (see ball-pit photos 🀩). READ WHAT JUST 2 WEEKS DOES IN FOSTER:

Patrick is the sweetest little cuddle bug. He's loves lounging out, taking naps, and getting pets. Definitely a medium energy dog. He plays with our other dogs all the time and loves going on walks and playing fetch. I swear hes part retriever. He's got all of his basic commands down and walks really well with just a harness. We even took him on a hike today and he absolutely loved it and did well passing other dogs on trail. He even posed for some pics (treats were involved here 1000%)

He loves people and other dogs. Plays with our other dogs. Very friendly. I think he'd do fine around cats as we pass a lot on our walks and he isn't reactive. But we don't have any cats at home so I'm not sure. He's a very easy to train dog and follows me everywhere. He's happy with pets and praise for doing well so you don't always have to give him treats - though he will happily take any treat you give him!

Patrick is utd on all of his medical (future neuter included) and ready to transition seamlessly into a forever home.

To inquire about Patrick please pm us a bit about yourself with a number to reach you and we will give you a call!

who fell in love with beautiful Titan, please take a look at all of our other pups, but also a second look at my beloved little Porter. The sweetest, most gentle 6mos black and white Pyranese puppy we held back to find the most special home for. Not livestock quality at all, absolutely a snugglebug gentle family pet. Take a look at his link here and send us a pm if he steals your heart like hes stolen ours:

πŸ’• I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for reaching out on Mr Magnificents behalf. I tried really hard to narrow down all of his inquiries to what was in his absolute best interest for the rest of his life, and - some interesting stars lined up....

Titan is going home in our foster-to-adopt program with an amazing family who, after much connected conversation, realized their other pup came from the same exact person and place Titan came from. Six years ago. May the people who perpetuate the abuse meet Karma face to face someday. Titan will never see dark days again.

For all of you who were interested in opening your hearts and homes to Titan, please keep your arms open to another hopeful angel out there who would give anything for the chance at their own families πŸ™β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ’•πŸ«Ά

πŸ’• Please be patient with our delayed responses to Titans inquiries. We still have a full house of medical pups, emergencies, vet runs, plus daily care to keep up with. We appreciate the overwhelming response to beautiful Titan and are trying to find him the best possible home for his specific needs. Thank you to everyone who supports this crazy mission in life πŸ’•

TITAN 2yr Tibetan Mastiff 160lbs
Available for adoption πŸ’•

Titan has an unbelievable back story Ill get to in a moment.

Calm, peaceful, serene, Titan enjoys a cool place in the shade to lie down and watch the butterflies. Even in play groups and in a huge play yard, Titan prefers to stroll around the perimeter, dismissing the others' shenanigans, and find a quiet spot out of the fray. He walks amicably on leash, is a noble presence, and a lovely soul (not to mention..gorgeous).

His story.....
Titan was rescued from a hoarder case out in the Siskiyou mountains. An unscrupulous 'rescuer' - known for scamming people out of large sums of money to intake dogs - had him. Tied to a tree. In a pen the size of a small dining room table.

For TWO YEARS.

He was chipped, still had on the beautiful rolled leather collar he was left with, and his owner never knew.

The chip was traced back to a gentleman in Carmel whose life had changed and could no longer care for him. He paid her, believing his beloved friend would get the love and care he had known in his short life, and moved across the country thinking he did the best he could for him.

Luckily, despite the accomodations and enduring harsh winters, Titan is none the worse for wear. His back legs are a bit sickle-hocked - likely genetic - but the vet hospital said hes healthy, no need for intervention except maybe some arthritis meds later on in life (me, too).

Titan deserves this next chapter of his life to be the best we can make it. A grassy lawn, a deck, a huge doggy bed, to be told how beautiful and loved he is and will be this time, and forever.

To inquire about Titan, please pm us a bit about yourself and leave us a number to reach you. As always, Thank You for choosing rescue 🫢

My beloved lovebug, PORTER is available for adoption to the bestest home.

Born into our care on March 16th, now 4 1/2 mos old, he is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle pure great pyranese you'll ever meet. The last and most special littlest of an 11 total litter. Mama Rain is a light 80lbs and Porter is her carbon copy.

Porter lives in the house with us and gently gets along with all other dogs, all people, all living creatures. Hes the most loving little soul on the planet and is a perfect sweetheart for a kind, loving home.

*He is absolutely not guardian bred nor meant to be working stock*. This sweetling would make a beautiful greeter for a winery, blueberry farm or lavender farm, or a gentle companion in a home on a hobby farm.

PM us if this love sounds as perfect to you as he is to us, and Thank You for choosing rescue βœ¨οΈπŸΎπŸ’•

An AMAZING day in the books with The W**d Library, W**d Union Elementary School, and Rescue Ranch Yreka.

This fantastic little library is a hidden gem in the community with a wonderful staff and great ideas. Partnered with W**d Elementary School for this event, 26 children arrived to read to our rescue pups. Every child learned how to check out their own books, received a library card, and were empowered to be inquisitive, explore, and - change the world.

I am honored to be a small part in these big ripple on the pond 🫢

Frankie is Available for Adoption
6 months female black lab x
Coming to Bohemia Park Adoption Meet Up! Saturday, 7/20

Frankies been in our two week foster program these last two weeks and is graduated and ready for a forever home! Here is what Frankies foster mom has to share about this beautiful girl:

Frankie took her time to warm up to us but when she did come around she is very friendly and super sweet and loves to cuddle she has silly personality. She likes to find a comfortable spot in the house and watch what goes on she does get nervous and worried when everyone is not in the room and she will whine to let you know. She hasn't roamed around the house too much on her own; she will follow someone that goes upstairs but than she will come right back to see where that other person is. She is a very loving dog and really thrives off the positive energy of being with someone, I don't think there is a mean bone in her body. She really wants to please she just can get overwhelmed.

She did very well with our daughter she seems pretty comfortable with kids as long as they aren't moving too fast (then she can get a little nervous). She gave Emilia a little warning growl once to let her know she felt crowed but no nipping or showing her teeth just a quick little grr and Emilia gave her space and than Frankie came and laid near her on her own. She even jumped up in her bed with her a few times on her own.

She does like to play with Abby (2yr old F lab) but she is not a rough player. She likes to chase but if it gets too rowdy she'll come find a spot next to one of us or find a toy and sit on her own. A quieter dog companion might be best that will engage with her but not be so overpowering. She doesn't seem interested in challenging another dog but she is a little territorial over her toys but not enough to fight she will whine or give a growl. Frankie does like to chew... she will need harder toys and supervision with soft ones. We call her Frank-a-saurus because she can open up a toy quicker than you can blink and she does get curious about other things in the house that might not be toys (especially wood stuff) but she is easily corrected. But she will chew on rubber toys forever so she needs things to keep her attention in that department for sure.

We haven't turned her loose off the leash yet to see her reaction but outdoors is not her favorite. She will go out on walks but she does have some anxiety while outside. People and noise have her on edge and as soon as your close to home shes always happy to get back in to her comfort zone.

Overall we love her sweet and goofy personality, she is just shy and our dog is just a little too rowdy for her. She might do better with a single person? She has been doing extremely well this week with both Ryan and I but she does seem to like to be with one person best; it seems a little easier for her.

Frankie will be in Cottage Grove this Saturday, 7/20 so dont miss out, and message us ahead of time if youre interested!

07/18/2024

We were honored to be a part of healing tender hearts at Camp Evergreen today, a camp through Klamath Hospice and Palliative Care that helps children through the grief of losing a loved one. I wont lie, my heart was in my throat many times in my short time there. We brought Josh, Porter, and our little celebrity Olivia to offer hugs and solace when the emotions ran high. Sweet Olivia took to her role like a veteran. Having been through tremendous trauma in her puppyhood, she fit seamlessly into the program and offered her sweet heart to all who needed it. Josh and Porter did a wonderful job too, but Olivia was the star today. Olivia is a survivor of a hit and run as a baby, and underwent two surgeries on both hind legs to repair the injuries. Fast forward two months in the main house with all of us, missy Olivia is healed and understood the assignment.

After today, I do believe Olivia would make an absolutely lovely therapy dog candidate. Lauren Sletta fyi πŸ’•.

To inquire about and meet Olivia, please PM us with information about yourself and a number to reach you and we will give you a call.

Olivia, Josh, and Porter will all be at the W**d Library this Friday, and if interest, our trip to Oregon this weekend.
