Supporting our local farms is important to us and knowing where your food comes from is crucial! 🧑‍🌾

Chicken hearts are a great source of taurine, zinc, and B vitamins. Chicken hearts also contain twice as much collagen and elastin than regular meat, which are essential for connective tissue health, joint health, and digestive health. ❤️

Liver is considered the most nutrient dense organ. Liver contains iron, vitamin A, and vitamin B12.

If you know me, you know I love talking about all things mushrooms. That’s why I even have a turkey tail mushroom tattoo. 🍄

I first learned about medicinal mushrooms when my dog Bro was diagnosed with hemagiosarcoma. My conventional vet at the time suggested using turkey tail mushrooms to help slow the cancer growth. At this time I didn’t know the difference between whole fruiting body or mycelium and there really wasn’t much products on the market.

Since then I have taken a deep dive of learning about the many benefits mushrooms can offer for our pets. 🐶

Mushrooms have immune boosting benefits, prebiotics, fiber, can help regulate blood sugar levels, source of zinc, source of vitamin D, supports the liver, supports heart health. 🍄

When looking for a mushroom product, make sure you are sourcing a high quality product that uses the whole fruiting body vs only using mycelium.

That’s why I highly suggest Real Mushrooms brand.
Real Mushrooms never uses mycelium grown on grain, nor do they add any grain filler to any of their products.

❌ Never feed raw mushrooms to your pets
In order to get the full benefits of mushrooms, they need to be cooked or hot water extracted.
❌ Never feed wild mushrooms.
While yes some wild mushrooms are safe for pets.
It’s best to avoid because identifying safe wild mushrooms can be tricky.

February is national pet dental health month 🦷
There is a big misconception that feeding kibble cleans your dogs teeth. 🚩
That is a myth!!!
Feeding ONLY kibble will actually build more plaque on your dog’s teeth because kibble is very high in carbohydrates.
Plaque feeds off of carbohydrates.

3 things you can do to help improve your dogs oral health
👉Feed raw bones. They contain natural enzymes that help fight off plaque. Active chewing will help clean the teeth. NEVER COOKED BONES
Dehydrated or air dried are okay.
👉Feed a species appropriate diet. Reduce excess carbohydrates.
👉Probiotics. Can help fight off bad bacteria and help prevent periodontal disease
