It’s one of the best times of the year! Kidding and lambing season is upon us and we are loving seeing everyone’s wonderful additions to their farms. We’ve got milk replacer, colostrum, bottles, vitamins & supplements, and more in stock right now. We also just got a fresh delivery of our 2-string orchard and alfalfa bales!

Chick season has arrived here at Diess Feed and we are starting off strong with two high producing layer birds, the Barred Rock and Rhode Island Red. Additional breeds will be arriving by this weekend and we will continue to get weekly deliveries. For inquiries on breeds or if you have any other questions, please stop by or call us at (541) 343-5007.

We also have a wide assortment of poultry supplies, feed, and treats to help keep your flock happy and healthy!

Our goal is to collect enough goodies for all 100 adult dogs & the 60 puppies that they currently have in their care.

We are excited to announce a fabulous Winter Wonderland event that we will be hosting here on Saturday, December 9th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM! We are now taking RSVP’s for a free Children’s Winter Workshop where kids will be able to decorate a holiday ornament and participate in other great crafts. Local members of the Crow FFA Chapter will also be here serving yummy hot chocolate & cookies to everyone that is able to stop by! In addition, there will be free door prizes, special promotions, and some of Santa’s favorite helpers will be present to help you pick out great gifts for all the wonderful pets & farmers in your life.

Meghan's House Rescue will be visiting Diess Feed & Seed for our Pet Days Event on Friday, October 6th from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

We will also have in-store door prizes, giveaways, and will be hosting a local food truck for the day called Luava’s Place; a locally-owned family business that specializes in Mediterranean and American food.

Whether you're looking for a fun outing, a chance to win a prize or meet your new furry best friend, there will be something for everyone at Pet Days!

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Loyal Customers:
As many of you may already be aware, Allison and I have elected to retire from Diess Feed and Seed after 21 years of ownership to pursue a much-needed break. This decision did not come easily and is one driven mostly by our age and waning ability to give the business all that we feel it deserves. Friday June 30th will be my last day at the store.
It has been an exciting and rewarding experience serving this wonderful community! We’ve found tremendous satisfaction from ensuring our customers received the best quality products, service, and support. We have greatly appreciated the support we have received while we have owned and operated this landmark business. We are extremely grateful to have been so openly welcomed into this community over two decades we were able to serve it.
We made it our mission to bring you the best products at the best value we could. Our goal has always been to support you and the community with exactly what you needed whether it be a less than ordinary request, or locally sourced product not found with any other store. Your needs and satisfaction have always been at the forefront of our business model. This was not was not an easy decision, but it was the one that we needed to make.
As you may have heard, Allison and I have agreed to sell the Diess business to Wilco Farmers, a farmer & rancher owned cooperative based from Mt. Angel. Wilco, who currently has a farm supply store in Springfield, announced in April, they would be adding a second store to serve Lane County. Wilco’s new Eugene store is located less than 1/2 mile to the east of our current store.
Having family who has worked for Wilco over the years, Allison and I were able to see firsthand how Wilco lived their mission and values and we were able to see their commitment to supporting agriculture and local communities. Taking everything into consideration, Allison and I knew our customers and community will be left in great hands.
Over these years we have watched many of your families grow just as many of you have seen our family grow. From the years in 4H and local school programs to both of our children attending Oregon State University. Our daughter is now a veterinarian at a local equine clinic and doing what she loves and our son becoming immersed in the outdoors through the Rachel Carson program at Churchill High School, now earning a living in the Ochoco National Forest, doing what he loves as well… We are blessed beyond words to have become so close to the members of this community.
Over these same years we have had made many new friends and lost many as well. That is the nature of being a part of something bigger than you and yours. Two of our most trusted four-legged employees were among those we bid farewell to during our more than 20-years at the store. We had our first dog, Glory, start taking the money at the register, a skill she learned from Mindy (Connie & Richard’s dog). Glory worked the store until she could no longer see or hear at 17 years old and then Toby came along. Our little long haired Chihuahua who loved every one of his customers. Toby would stand on the counter and wag his tail until you came to see him. If you waited too long to say hi, he would let out with a little bark, just to make sure you saw him and would tear your check out of your checkbook if you were too slow writing it. Toby worked at the store for 12 wonderful years until he too was unable to manage. We miss them both dearly. We will also miss all our customers who have come and gone over the years. Allison and I want wish each and every one of you all the best in the future. We hope to see you around as we are not leaving the community, just adjusting our course, and taking time for ourselves.
