Spring Farm Update

Hello dear flower lovers, it is time to share that I will not be offering my usual spring Flower Club this year. Many of you purchase for Valentine's Day, as it is typically the first opportunity as the farm begins to wake up. There are other flower farmers in the area that are offering lovely spring subscriptions.

While I am planning a slower year for personal reasons, I will have sporadic offerings of plants and cut flowers in 2022. At this time, the only subscription planned this spring is a Peony Flower Club in May (available on my website).

I am incredibly grateful for all of you reading this, and how you have supported this little joy project for the last 4 years. This farm is an extension of my heart and mind. Community around flowers has been the #1 biggest addition to my life since starting this farm! I look forward to how I can offer flowers to my community in a way that is sustainable for the long term.

The most magical zinnia! And there’s a baby bee using this as a hotel, can you spy it’s little face?
🤍Seeds from breeding program. So happy the chickens didn’t win - I planted these near the chicken yard and the naughtiest ones tore my row apart. In hindsight I would’ve planted these in a much safer spot! 6 plants made it and I’ll be saving seed from them for sure!
🌾Farmstand is open an hour early! Limited supply of mixed bouquets today. I’m stretched thin on time.

Sweet Nathalie
I’m getting the dahlia rows under control today. They’ve been sort of neglected this summer so far and just blooming their heads off. I am rejuvenating them to get ready for the September Flower Club (sold out). I am cutting them way back, weeding the rows (bindweed is a major problem during harvest, it winds along the stems and is hard to remove), and will apply compost tea tomorrow. Cut dahlias today will be bouquets at the farmstand tomorrow and Friday! 10am until sold out.
Horn ln. @ Sunny drive. Self serve honor stand. I accept cash, Venmo or PayPal.

I’ve opened up the online flower shop while I’m in town this week! Pop over to my website if you’d like to send some love to yourself or another. Deliveries and free farmstand pick up available through Friday this week, and then I’ll be closing up the shop till early September. Also, I’ll be stocking the farmstand Wednesday and Thursday for self-serve mixed bouquets. Hope everyone is taking good care of yourselves, the world is a lot right now 💓

Glorious echinacea with thornless blackberry tunnel in the background. I made this tunnel with cattle panel, mainly fir the kids to feel some magic on their way to the fort. When the blackberries started climbing it all felt so perfect. These thornless blackberries grow 15’ canes! Delish.

Back on the farm after a month and it’s a whole new season! When I’m on farm these flowers are all cut, so it’s super special to see them in full bloom! They are absolutely covered with pollinators, many species of native bees as well as honeybees. I’ll share more photos of the bloom in the coming days.

Hello friends, greetings from the Oregon coast! I am taking the month to recalibrate myself and spend quality time with my family away from the busy schedule of the school year. This has been the plan for a few years, to have a shoulder season farm.
🤍Selling flowers from spring equinox to summer solstice felt so right on so many levels this year. Y’all seemed pretty into it too! Those spring blooms are something special.
🤍The farm will be back with dahlias and other late summer crops August through October. I’m hoping to have a big marigold crop for Halloween, we shall see!
🤍We’ve got the high tunnel now so can play around with extending our season past the first frost.
🤍Having a strong spring takes a lot of work the year before, which is now! When I get back to the farm I’ll focus on seeding hardy annuals or cool flowers, they need to get in the ground and develop a strong root system before winter hits. They will overwinter, loving the cool temps, and be ready to bloom early next spring. For more info on this check out the book Cool Flowers by
🤍I am offering a dahlia Flower Club for the 5 weeks of September. Link in bio 😘
🤍I’ve got wedding dates available for September and October, find the weddings tab on my website to begin a chat.

Sweet little made in a found copper bowl. The bowl had just enough give to wedge them in so they didn’t move, and gave a little structure fir the stems to rest against.
🌱 Ingredients: pink echinacea, white daisy, bachelor button white, didiscus lacy blue, cafè creme foxglove, dusty miller, raspberry scabiosa

So pleased with these echinacea year after year. This year they are just for the pollinators and that makes me so happy.

Ahh pure white roses 🤍
Tranquility from David Austin - long strong stems and many flowers on each.
White flowers though, I tell ya. Bugs love them the most! I don’t grow many whites because of this. But I can’t quit with these roses, even if they are a little big chewed, they still are just gorgeous!

💦 Stay cool everyone 💦I’m watering watering watering, like everyone else in the west under this record heat wave. The farm is officially closed until mid August. I’ll be off enjoying summer and spending quality time with my kids and family (hard to do when farm is full force!).
🪲Dahlia Flower Club announcement went out a few days ago, and you can sign up on my website! It doesn’t start till September but I expect it to sell out so don’t wait too long.
🦋After watering all morning, I made this fun garden rose bouquet with the live. My first time attempting a big cascading bouquet with a chicken wire armature. Challenging and fun, I need much more practice but I’m excited to play with a new technique. Snipping small sections of yarrow was a favorite tjo learned also, helps it be more airy and less blocky.
