The Veterinary Hospital

The Veterinary Hospital We care about pets and their people too. Our family owned practice has been serving the Eugene community since 1962.

Our founder, Dr. Stan Blinkhorn, set out to create a place where pets and their people were treated with respect, honesty and dedication. His business partner, and our current owner, Dr. Nancy Johnson is honored to carry that vision to today. While some things might have changed, (we have an app now!) these core principals will always remain our first priority. Our team is knowledgeable, compassio

nate and excited to help your pet live a happy, healthy life. Ever single person who wears our snazzy green uniforms carries the same passion for excellent veterinary medicine. In addition to offering 'traditional' veterinary services, we go beyond to offer you alternative options like acupuncture, Chinese medicine and stem cell therapy. Our commitment to excellence can be seen from our separate dog and cat waiting rooms, to our high-grade anesthetic, another way we keep our surgeries as safe as possible.

Stay safe, and call us if you have any questions on how you can protect your pets from Avian Influenza.

Department of Agriculture has reported that two cats from different households in Multnomah County became ill with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI H5N1) after eating the same raw food: Wild Coast LLC – Boneless Free Range Chicken Formula, Lots #22660 and #22664 – Best By Date 12/2025. Both cats were euthanized due to their illnesses. If you have either of these food lots, stop feeding it immediately.

Tips to help protect your pet from HPAI:
* Do not feed your pet undercooked or raw meat, including uncooked or freeze-dried meat-based diets, treats, or animal products.
* Do not feed your pet raw (unpasteurized) milk or colostrum.
* Prevent pets from eating birds or other wild animals.
* Wash your hands after touching raw meat and after interacting with poultry, livestock or animals outside your household.
* Consider changing clothing and shoes after interacting with animals or birds with unknown health status and before interacting with your own pets.
* Contact your veterinarian if your pet appears sick. Tell your veterinarian if your pet has been exposed to raw meat, raw milk, or wild waterfowl.

Lovable Poe is looking for his forever home.

We have been privileged to care for him since his reoccurring urinary obstruction required surgical intervention last year. He is fully recovered, with no further incidences, but will require a special urinary diet the rest of his life.

Noel has been taking wonderful care of him, but Poe has made his wishes to be an only cat very clear. Poe is great with dogs and kids!

If you're interested in welcoming him to your home, please contact Noel at 316-200-9318.
