Bernie is HOME πππ₯°We know there's a lot of you who have been waiting to hear this one. π₯Ή When Bernie and his brother Freddie came to us in late December, we pretty quickly realized that they were not feeling their best. Heartbreakingly, they were both given a diagnosis of distemper, and we lost Freddie shortly after π Bernie stayed strong though, and fought as best as he could, until the day came that we got his negative test result in and we all breathed a giant sigh of relief πππΌ Once Bernie was medically cleared it didn't take long for his new forever family to come meet him, and he's been living it up with them ever since! π₯Ήβ€οΈ He's now surrounded by SO much love, and will be for the rest of his days. Huge thank you to his new humans Sarah & Brian for adopting this sweet kiddo, and for giving him the love-filled life he fought so hard for ππΌ You deserve the world, sweet B! We love ya β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Miss Tika is ready to steal your hearts and become your new little bff! π₯°π
Tika is 12 years old, and full of love (and just the right amount of sass! π) She's playful, and loves her human pal's affection. She was surrendered by her previous home for unknown reasons, along with her buddy Papi. Since arriving, we've determined that the two do not seem to be bonded, and would be happy joining separate homes, but a home together would also be considered. Tika gets along with dogs around her size, and we believe she'd do just fine with cats in the home, too. Kids around 10+ would also be fine for Tika. She does have "micro eye" (Microphthalmia) in one of her eyes, as you can see, but our vets have said that it's not causing her any pain and she's a happy, unbothered girl π
You can find Tika's adoption bio on our website today, under the adoptable dogs tab! You might as well fill out an app while you're there π #nwdpseniorsanctuary
You all know this story by now π Human breeds dogs for profit, human can't sell dogs, human dumps dogs at the shelter π€π
Thankfully though, these two sweet French Bulldogs fell onto our radar and we agreed to welcome them into the NWDP family β€οΈ We're not gonna lie, as a rescue it can be risky to say yes to this breed, as we are well aware of the medical complications and costs that can, and often do go hand in hand with them. But they deserve to find loving families, and we intend on making sure that happens. Please help us welcome these two cuties in the comments by suggesting some names for them ππΌ The larger one is a female and the smaller one is a male!
Sweet Mowlo is STILL being so patient for her family to find her π₯Ί
Mowlo is around 9 years old, and a petite little pittie, weighing just 34 lbs. She fought hard when she first arrived, battling a resistant strain of pneumonia, and now that she's feeling so much better we would LOVE to see her begin the next chapter of her life in a home of her own β€οΈ
Mowlo would be happy joining a home as the only dog, but homes with another mellow dog will be considered for her as well. She'd prefer a home without kitties, and we think kids aged 10+ would be ideal for her, as she seems to prefer a more chill environment β€οΈ She's the type of girl who loves to get out for her daily strolls, and then come back home to snuggle up for a good snooze. She's potty trained, crate trained and she walks politely on leash! β
Mowlo has become one of our top snuggle bugs here at the rescue, and she brings so much joy to our days π₯Ή It's her turn to find a family though, and we can't wait to make that happen for her! To apply to meet Mowlo and see if she's the right fit for your family, head to our website and fill out an app today! Our facility is located in Eugene, OR but we do adopt out to nearby cities and states too! We just require all adopters to travel here for the meet and greet π
Good morning from Rose and Mr. Gold from their temp foster home β€οΈ Counting down the days til we get to welcome them in here! π€
As you all know Grandpa Miles had a pretty hefty surgery day about 6 days ago, and he took a bit longer to recover. He had all of his rotten teeth removed, a neuter, and a painful mass removed from his backend ππΌ We knew given some time, this little guy would start to open up once he felt better, and he's begun to do that π₯² Miles has such a sweet side to him, and we think it's only going to come out more and more as he grows more comfortable. We love him so much, and we're so grateful for all of YOU who made it possible for him to have the medical care he needed. This is why our #nwdpseniorsanctuary exists, right here. π₯Ήβ€οΈππΌ
Larry & Richard are still available for adoption πWe had three of our pups go home this weekend (yay!!) which means that these two sweet guys are still waiting to find their forever families. Maybe it could be you?? Larry and Richard are Pittie/Herding breed mixes and are coming up on being 12 weeks old. They will grow to be around 50-60 lbs at full maturity we believe, and should make excellent adventure buddies! π€π² Larry & Richard can join homes with another doggy pal, cats, or kids, as long as proper boundaries are set into place. Find these boys' adoption profiles on our website today to apply!
We may be saying goodbye to a few of these sweet faces today, as they meet some potential families π«ΆπΌ But apps are still OPEN for these guys, and we'd love to get everyone of them into their forever homes soon, so they can get started on their brand new lives! π₯°
If you've been thinking of adopting a new bff into your life, and think you'd be a great fit for a pittie/herding breed mix pup like these guys, head to our website today to read up on their adoption bio and fill out an app to come meet them! π
We're accepting apps for this little prince now! π€©
Ned has quickly become bffs with every one of our staff and volunteers, and it's because he's the sweetest little love bug you'll ever meet π He just adores a nice lap cuddle, and even enjoys taking a leisurely cruise in your overalls when you need your hands free π Ned thrives when he has another dog buddy around, so we're looking for him to join a home that already has another dog for him to be best pals with. He would also do fine in a home with kitties, or kids, but due to his small size we'd prefer slightly older kiddos 10+.
As most of you know, Ned just went to the vet for his neuter and dental, but we are still waiting to hear back on a few things, (he needed an echocardiogram and radiographs for an old injury on his leg) so we will be updating his bio with more info on that soon! But if you'd like to get in an app for this sweet little man right now, we encourage you to do so! You can find him under the adoptable dogs page on our website today π₯° #nwdpseniorsanctuary
