Meet Susan!

“I started in the veterinary field back in 1992 because I wanted to help animals, but I’ve stayed for over 33 years because I love helping the people who love them just as much. Supporting pet owners through difficult and emotional moments is just as meaningful to me as caring for their beloved pets.” 💚

Susan first joined Airport Freeway Animal Emergency Hospital in 2021, took a short break, and recently rejoined the team and we couldn’t be happier to have her back!

When not at the hospital, Susan stays busy with three human kids, three furry kids, and three foster kittens (for now!). 🐱🐶💚

We’re so lucky to have such a compassionate and experienced team member caring for our patients and clients!

Sweet Slider came to visit us after experiencing some tummy troubles, poor guy was having vomiting and diarrhea. He was a little nervous at first (who wouldn’t be at the doctor’s office?), but it didn’t take long for him to warm up to the team. 💚

With lots of gentle care, comfort, and a few well-placed treats, Slider showed us his sweet personality in no time. We’re so proud of how brave he was during his visit!

We’re wishing this handsome pup a speedy recovery and hoping he’s back to his happy, playful self soon. 💕🐶

I’m excited to introduce myself, my name is Chris, and I’m the new Practice Manager here at Airport Freeway Animal Emergency Hospital!

I’ve been in veterinary medicine for nearly 20 years, and I’m incredibly passionate about supporting both our team and the pets and families we serve. My goal is to help create a positive, collaborative environment where our staff can thrive and our patients receive the exceptional care they deserve.

Emergency medicine has always inspired me, it’s fast-paced, challenging, and deeply rewarding. I’m looking forward to getting to know our clients, referral partners, and community members, and to being part of the team that’s here for you when your pets need us most.

Thank you for welcoming me to the Airport Freeway family and I can’t wait to meet you all!

Riddick came to us suffering from heat stroke. Heat stroke can be deadly, even a short time in the heat can overwhelm a dog’s ability to cool down, especially breeds with short noses!

Our team worked quickly with cooling therapy, IV fluids, and close monitoring. We’re so glad to report this patient went home! 🐶💧

Meet this brave pup, Bach, who came in with GDV (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus), also known as “bloat.” This emergency happens when the stomach twists on itself, trapping gas and cutting off blood supply. It is rapidly fatal if untreated.

Thanks to immediate recognition by their family and quick intervention from our ER team, surgery was performed in time, and this strong patient is recovering well! 💪

If you ever see your dog with sudden bloating, unproductive retching, restlessness, or collapse, don’t wait! Get to an ER immediately. Early action saves lives.
