The once wild quarter horse cross I caught back in June is coming along nicely! He’s sporting his new halter and letting strangers pet him ❤️ he’s starting to come to the fence to ask for treats and no longer scared of the back ho!
I still need to do a video about how he was caught and the crazy story behind that adventure! One of these days I’ll get around to it 🤣

I am posting all of my equine art for sale and also offering to do a limited number of commissions in order to help offset the cost of vet bills/care for the wild horse I rescued and the horse I got from the rescue a few months ago.
Yesterday I had to take one of them to the vet to get some broken/infected teeth pulled. It was rather pricy but it needed to be done to help him be more comfortable.

This client wants to do some liberty work with her horses and wants to feel more safe and confident handling them. Both her horses are a little buddy sour so liberty work is good for them to teach them how to seek connection confidently and safely. During this session I had her take the mare away to the barn and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this gelding looked for my instruction! I’ve worked with him only a handful of times and I had no treats with me so this was a big step in the right direction! For reference he did not know how to yield his hindquarters when we first started working together. #horses #training #liberty #trainer

When you send your horse in for training they are guaranteed to get desensitized to a whole lot of things!! The guys are always working on something around here so I take every opportunity I get. When I start working with a new horse these are some of the essential things I want them to understand before moving onto more intense workouts. Especially when they come to me with no manners. After they understand basics then we can actually lunge for a workout and begin to ride. Trust starts on the ground and it has to go both ways!!
