Thanks to Pledges and Donations we are pleased to announce we have reached our monetary goal for spaying/neutering the 60+ cat colony in Trinidad! Thank you so much to the community members who donated and the organizations that made pledges! We are ecstatic with the support that poured in and couldn't be more grateful.
We also want to shed light on the fact that a colony like this isn't a unique situation. Every week we work with community members to trap, neuter, and return cats all over the county. As unfortunate as it is new colonies pop up all the time and sometimes go years before someone brings attention to them. One cat alone (if left unaltered) can turn into 24 cats in a matter of 18 months! With the help of our community and donations towards our Feral Colony Fund, we can curb the overpopulation of feral colonies in Humboldt County!
We are always taking donations, consider making a tax-deductible donation through one of the below channels. Thank you!

Here's a fun update for you mid-week blues. We got an update about Pinto and Pacer (previously Cosmo and Carnation) from their new parents and the two of them are LOVING life! We rescued these cuties at just a few days old and we love seeing the updates of them growing! Pinto and Pacer have befriended the two small dogs in the house and Pinto, who was the smallest of the two, is now bigger than pacer!

Happy Spay and Neuter Awareness Month! Not only does spaying/neutering help curb pet overpopulation all across the globe, it also has some health benefits! According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, spaying/neutering your pets helps reduce their risk of developing cancers and protects them against some potentially serious diseases. There are also some benefits related to pets behavior, spaying/neutering reduces certain mating-related behaviors that tend to frustrate owners.
Call now today for your cat and dog, payment assistance is available to those who qualify.

This past week we were able to assist in treating eye issues on two cats and an infected wound one the chin of one of them! The cute black cat sporting a hoodie was having an issue with his third eyelid poking out. We noticed it prior to his surgery and were able to do a quick fix once he was under. The other handsome big tabby boy had an eye infection and a wound infection. After some antibiotics and some wound care we expect him to make a full recovery!
We were able to proceed with these treatments thanks to our Feral Colony Fund, a fund entirely made up of donations from the community! Every little helps and goes a long way.

If you are interested in donating to the Feral Colony Fund, please check out the below channels, thank you!

**Trinidad Colony - Update**
This week we spayed and neutered the first 13 cats from this colony. We also repaired a hernia and treated everyone's ear mites and tapeworms. As you can see from the photos, the cats, so far, have been friendly. Sequoia Humane Society has agreed to take some of the cats into their program. Woohooo!

More cats are coming in next week, so stay tunned!

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation now to support this large spay/neuter project. All donations will help us spay/neuter and medically treat all 60 cats.

We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far! We are constantly reminded how compassionate our community is towards the voiceless animals that need help.

*CALL TO ACTION, DONATIONS NEEDED*
Humboldt Spay/Neuter Network was contacted in a case regarding a colony in Trinidad with 60+ cats! Starting this week cats from this colony will be brought into the clinic. These cats will be spayed/neutered, given a rabies vaccine, treated for any existing parasites, and treated for any health issues diagnosed upon their visit.
Donations will go towards the surgeries and treatments of every cat in the colony and any additional resources needed along the way. We are thrilled to start on this project and need the community's help along the way! Please like and share this post so we can reach an even wider audience!

Remember Bobby and Batty? Well look at them now!
They were our two sick kittens that were brought to us from separate feral colonies, we nursed them back to health and put them together to keep each other company. Bobby (now Hefe) and Batty (now Melvin) were adopted by their foster family who grew so attached they couldn't give them up. They settled in quickly to their new homes alongside their fellow cat and dog housemates. Melvin and Hefe are "thriving" and clearly living their best life.
Thanks to donations towards our Feline Emergency Fund, Melvin and Hefe were able to make a full recovery and be given a second chance!
