Some of you may remember a kitty posted last week on Humboldt Paws Cause, and then earlier this week on our page. Kitty was thought to be hit by car, but turned out to just be very sick.
He was treated at the vet for the most pressing issues and taken to the county shelter. He was microchipped, but after attempts to contact owners, no one came forward for him. Unfortunately due to his medical condition, he was going to be euthanized.
Our friends at Friends for Life reached out and we decided to work together to at least get him in a foster home to give him a chance and at the very least give him a comfortable place to enjoy his last days.
He is off balance due to an ear infection, which can be fixed (and he is being treated for). His other ear likely has cancer, but he will need another vet visit to see if surgery can be done to remove it. We will be doing that next week.
We would love help with the medical care needed for this poor guy. He is so sweet and deserves a fighting chance.
Just in time for the Holidays, the spice kittens: essential for tidings of comfort and joy! Meet Ginger, Nutmeg, Clove, and Cinnamon (he pops in at the end).
Their mama was a stray in Eureka and these cuties would’ve ended up on the streets without the intervention of a kind man who let mama come inside his apartment to have her babies. Now mama is fixed, and these fluff balls are ready for forever homes!
This little lady is Tifa! She’s only been at the rescue for a few days, and already walks around like she owns the place! She’s been bottle raised, after being found as a tiny and very sick kitten months ago.
Tifa is now four months old, fixed, and ready to add some fun into a home! She is super sweet and playful.
Another momma cat and her 2 kittens that were rescued from the van.
This is momma Violet and kittens Eloise and Benedict (13 weeks old)
This beautiful but scared mama came into the Humboldt county animal shelter last week, and they reached out to see if we could take her. She had four, three week old kittens, and a shelter is a hard place for a scared mama!
Luckily one of our experienced fosters was available which allowed us to be able to help! Whew! But the story doesn’t end there…..
A few days later we were contacted by another foster who’s friends had reached out after finding four, 3 week old kittens. The mama couldn’t be found and wasn’t seen on cameras that had been set up. Plus we were contacted several days after the finder had the kittens, so chances of finding mom were further reduced. They weren’t set up to raise kittens and were looking for help.
Since the kittens are all the same age, we offered to see if our new family would accept some additions. And lucky for us, this beautiful girl had no problem taking on four more!
The foster is being very vigilant weighing the kittens and is prepared to bottle feed them too if needed, but so far, so good!
The adorable fluffs will be ready for adoption in a couple months once they are weaned, fixed, and vaccinated. Mama too!

Daily eye check
Wow! We are so grateful for our generous community. Thank you to everyone who donated towards the care of the kitties who came from an extreme hoarding situation, where 45 cats were found trapped living in a van in horrible conditions.
The kittens are doing great! They all had eye infections and respiratory issues from the conditions they endured, but are almost completely recovered! Daily eye checks on everyone = playtime!
Five of these cuties are getting fixed today and will be available for adoption next week! Thank you again for helping these babies get the care they deserve and onto a better life!
The cats got into the cat nip last night. Things got a little crazy 😆
Sierra and Blue enjoying some cat grass!
We always welcome donations of cat grass 💚
It’s great to see the van kitties, who barely had room to move, running and playing!
