Update: "China" has been reunited with her owners"

A close neighbor has been helping a lost horse. Today they posted this update: "She continues to be a total mystery. She is well-fed and appears healthy. The owner has not contacted us to identify her and LCSO will take her to their facility tomorrow. I presume she will go up for adoption if her owner remains unknown."

If you know anyone in the area of our Eustis farm that had a horse get loose this week, please reach out to us tonight or LCSO tomorrow.

There aren't enough words to express our gratitude for our barn family. When we left for our trip of a lifetime to Europe, there was no storm brewing. But now there's Hurricane Milton and we are currently in Spain. Our barn family has completely stepped up and helped our daughter, Sam, prep for the last couple days! Every horse has at least 2 tags. All jumps are down. All loose things are laid down, put away, or thrown away…! We will be alright, thanks to Sami, Kristi, Emily, Ivana, the Priester family and the rest of our barn family -- THANK YOU ❤️

Our Story

Welcome to Dream Horses Equestrian Center, Lake County's full-service Hunter/Jumper/Eventing equestrian facility. DHEC covers all your Hunter/Jumper and Eventing needs from full-service boarding, to beginners' lessons & shows, to national-level A Hunter/Jumper training.

Owned and operated by Javier (Beto) Gamboa since 2009, Dream Horse Equestrian Center is a top-caliber facility, complete with fully equipped clay jumping ring, separate dressage ring and beautiful 5-acre cross country schooling field. For the beginner, DHEC teaches how to tack up and basic horse care and grooming. We believe that taking care of your horse is an important part of the lesson program. Caring for your horse before and after each lesson makes each rider feel more comfortable around horses, teaches responsibility and allows the rider to feel closer to their mount. For novice and intermediate riders, we offer an extensive lesson program focusing on safety and horsemanship so you can move up to that next level. The program features many school horses, group instruction, and frequent participation in local shows. DHEC provides additional services for the equestrian community, including offering horses both for sale and for lease.

DHEC offers all the amenities of first-class boarding with an experienced and dedicated professional staff. Full board includes stall, daily turnout, morning and evening feed and hay. Every horse has a stall. While the weather is pleasant all the horses are out in the pasture night and day unless the owner specifically requests to have them in their stalls. During the summer some horses may spend half the time out and the other half in. We have approx. 4 horses per beautiful, green pasture. We have a fully equipped clay jumping ring with lights and a separate dressage ring. We also have a cross country field perfect for schooling. High and dry 16 stall barn with 12x12 stalls and 3 cement-floored wash racks in the back. On-site trailer storage is also available. Barn includes large tack room with saddle racks and space for your tack trunk, feed/hay room, office with CLEAN bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, washing machine and dryer.

About the trainer -- Javier “Beto” Gamboa has worked with horses for over 30 years and comes from a family of successful equestrians. He is the youngest of five brothers all involved in the equine industry - four (including himself) are trainers and one is an equine veterinarian. His father began training horses in 1948, so it’s safe to say, this is more than just a hobby, it’s the family passion. To date- three Gamboa’s have been to the Olympics – one in dressage, one in jumpers and one riding in the Junior Olympics. Javier has competed both nationally and internationally since the age of 10 and began teaching and training in Colombia, South America at the age of 18. He later moved to the United States in 1986, where he has continued his equine career. His love for dressage started later in life thanks to eventing and has blossomed in to a passion like no other. Javier is striving to obtain his bronze medal in the near future, and doesn’t seem to be stopping there. He still manages to maintain a professional career training horses and giving approximately 40 lessons per week to his students.
