Hello Tulip Loving Friends,

I got all the bulbs planted in the nick of time this year (3500!) and it's going to be a lovely show of favorites old and new come Spring.

The Impression series made a big splash last year so, of course, there will be a week of those but also new colorways and forms that I can't wait to get my hands on (see full list of varieties below).

This will be our third year offering the tulip share, and the largest offering yet. Since past share offers have sold out in hours, I decided to plant more! But there is only so much we can squeeze onto our 1/10 acre. :) So, do get your order in and, please note, we will be offering local delivery this year!

If you are choosing the share as an amazing gift (!), we will email you a printable certificate for giving. Please note this at checkout.

We are proud of our tulips and the incredible lasting beauty they bring. Because when you buy local flowers, the vase life is completely different than store-bought. And with tulips, it makes an incredible difference.

Thanks for reading. Wishing you a cozy winter and very happy holidays! And do reach out with any questions [email protected]

Just read this review left by a bride we worked with this summer. 🥺 It feels incredible to have someone take the time to write this and post it. And a good reminder to myself, and to us all, to follow up and shout out our positive experiences! Especially when it’s a small business. It means everything! ✌️❤️

I decided to attach a card to our 2024 share bouquets listing all the varieties included. Fun to see how many tidbits can come together into a sum greater than its parts. And, as always, it is abundantly clear that the most beautiful bouquets rely on perennials for the visual interest and uniqueness factor! Thus
confirming my decision to dedicate two additional 50’ beds to perennials for next year. For me they are a win-win!

Super excited to offer an alternate location to our flower shareholders this year! Not only is it in downtown Evanston and an easier pickup for many, it is one of the most interesting and creative shops in our town. I am super honored to work with them. And stay tuned! In addition to share pickups, we will be offering ‘Friday Flowers’ real soon. So give a follow and stop in to experience how they are reinventing shopping for clothes and decor ❤️✌️

It’s finally poppy season …

Yippee. My favorites, not only for how they look but because they make arrangements a snap to make- they kick everything up a notch! And really excited for them to be the star of a bridal bouquet in a few weeks (please no 90 degree days 🤞🤞- true to their name, Icelandic poppies do not like heat)
And, of course, they will dance around in our weekly flower shares.

Last Call for a Special Batch of Plants ...

In our little space in a strip mall, on a busy city corner, we have managed to successfully raise thousands of plants from seed, despite the odds! It seemed like such a long shot in the beginning but each year the "nursery" gets better and better. One day I will have that huge, glass greenhouse of my dreams but, for now, I am pretty pleased with my dry cleaner-turned-plant haven!

Most everything was sold as a pre-order this year (thank you!) but there are some things left that might interest you. This will be the final sale of plants for the year.

The full list was sent to our email list this afternoon. If you are not part of our email family, send a DM for the full list.

First come, first serve while supplies last :)

Sunday mornings with tulips always hit just right - give me all the wavy, whimsical stems … BTW, my favorite place to find floral inspiration is and they have an amazing collection of these etched vintage vases from India. I have been slowly building up my own stash in all shapes and sizes. Love them so much!

*HOW WE DO EVENTS YEAR-ROUND*.. See below for descriptions of arrangements ⬇..
We are honored to design thoughtful, sustainable florals for all of life's memorable events. While we prefer to use our own flowers for events, this isn't always possible. Sometimes an event is large and requires A LOT of material. Then, of course, there is the fact that we can only farm here from about April-October. But real life marches on in the depths of Winter when the fields are fallow ... so what then?
Crucially, our naturalistic design is dictated 100% by the seasons. So we are never trying to find the perfect peony in August, for example. Then it comes down to how we prioritize the ingredients we use. Our first choice will always be homegrown. Secondly, we look to the many other outstanding Midwest flower farms. If we still require more stems, we go to The Floral Source for American grown product before finally looking overseas when required. Please reach out if you need help flowering one of life's big (or small) events .....
*Pic 1: A remembrance wreath for a winter memorial service. Flowers inserted directly into a moss base. Includes "Happy Face" tulips forced hydroponically from in Winnetka, assorted California blooms and a few choice items from overseas.
*Pics 2 & 3: A pedestal vase & table arrangements for a winter funeral with tulips, American branches, stock and ranunculus plus imported garden roses
*Pic 4: A flower meadow for a rectangular table at a winter baby shower. Our own Geranium leaves and forced muscari with mixed California and imported flowers

Not hard to keep it local when we have such talent in Evanston. Devastated to hear that her studio space and that of (incredible ceramicist) was destroyed in a fire this week. Small business ownership is hard y’all and losing everything is unimaginable to me 💔 Let’s help ‘em out however we can- Go Fund Me links in profile 👊
