Rex's Place

Rex's Place No one should stay home alone - including your dog Your dog loves you - no doubt about it. But most dogs want just one thing. To be around other dogs.

That is what we do best. At Rex's Place, our enrichment dog daycare has a mission: We want to stimulate and enrich the lives of the dogs who visit us by providing them with a stress free home away from home experience. But just like at home, we have expectations. We are not just a place for dogs to run off excess energy. Rather, we have a unique socialization and enrichment program that creates a

a positive experience in neutral territory. And that reaps benefits We can reach and engage dogs on three levels: social, physical and emotional. Obedience practices play a big role in our every day routine. We challenge every dog 's ability to adapt, thrive, gain confidence and develop into a social, mindful and content canine companion. Dogs are taught to respect one another (and staff), understand their imitations and the limitations of others so that they can co-exist with dogs of other sizes and breeds. At Rex's Place, dogs will learn to play, chase, stop, come, rest and wait politely at the door until their name is called for a walk of lunch. If this sounds like something you'd like for your dog, come on by and take a tour.

First, many apologies for us having to close today. On December 31, Sean Atchinson, who used to work with us got married. So congratulations Sean and Mariah. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding, but unfortunately it became a super spreader event and there were a number of us that got ill. I havent been at work but Its hitting the Chicago area and everyone at the daycare was getting sick. So we figured it was better to close down for the day and give everyone a chance to recover or fight what ever is going around.

Second, if you’ll bear with me on the animal communicator update. Seaquel did say she felt something growing in her stomach and in fact she was right. She has a small mass on her bladder. I was hoping Asia wasn’t right so I could laugh, as most people do, when i talk about going to an animal communicator. This was not that time.

It’s to be determined what kind of cancer it is and what our options are. If you saw her, you would not think she was sick, but I’m grateful every day that we discovered it, hopefully early.

Stay well and safe this weekend. We will all be back on Monday.

Sweet mama Snickers came to us as a stray with two of her babies last week and now she’s spending Christmas alone in a kennel 😢

Her babies were old enough to be separated from her and truthfully, she was kind of over them. They’ve since found foster homes but as always, mamas take a little longer to find their happily ever after.

Snickers is a sweetie! She loves attention from whoever will give it to her and while she may have been over motherhood, we think the heartbreak from being alone is hitting her 💔 right now, we’d love to find a petless home for her to get some good decompression time and learn more about her. Can someone pls come break her out of here?!

We think she’s be okay with kids, she’s shown nothing but love so far. She seems to be housebroken and maybe even crate trained because she goes right into her kennel. Please share far and wide and let’s get her feeling better! ❤️ (her bio on our website is in the works)
