If love alone could have kept you here, you would lived forever.

RIP Louie 🐾💔

This is not the update we expected to share with everyone today. Sadly, Louie's family had to make the tough decision to let him go after yesterday's devastating diagnosis.

Please keep Louie's family in your thoughts and prayers.

We want to thank those that donate and support our mission at Paw Street. It is because of you that Louie was able to see a vet and be with his family in their final moments together without the stress of not being able to afford his vet care.

Welcome to Paw Street ❤️‍🩹🐾

Huge Paw Street shout out going to Carrla Brantley Rasco Bickell, owner of Mans Best Friend Mobile Grooming for Dogs for helping out with one of our Paw Street pets that needed her nails trimmed!
Lulu hates going to vet so when her mom called needing help with Lulu's nails, we sent the message right over to Carrla who gladly accepted.
Thank you Carrla! We appreciate all you do for animals in need.

LOUIE'S Story

Message from Louie's Family
I need emergency help for my dog Louie. He currently has an obstruction or is constipated. He is in pain and has been howling all night. He is 10 years old; he doesn’t get into anything he’s not supposed to so idk what’s going on but he needs help asap and I have no other means this is my only hope.

This is Louie, he’s a male Shih tzu 10 years old. He means the absolute world to us; he’s been with us thru a lot. He loves car rides, anything that squeaks and treats!

From the Paw Street Case manager-
Louie is showing signs of constipation, pain, problems using hind legs and has not urinated in the last 24 hours. I am deeming this matter as urgent.
Application process is now complete, and we contacted the family to let them know they have been approved for assistance, and they can leave for Princeton Vet Hospital this afternoon.
We want to thank Louie's family for their quick response to all of our requests for information necessary for getting him approved.

Welcome to Paw Street! 🐾❤️

PUPDATE-
Freddie Mercury was seen by the team at Princeton yesterday. His liver is indeed the problem. The prognosis is pending- the issue could have been caused by Leptospirosis, a known bacterial infection in dogs or the culprit could have been some other type of infection or unknown toxins. At this time, it is unknown what has attacked his liver or what the long-term prognosis will be.
A more conservative approach is being taken at this time using medications including antibiotics. If the cause is Lepto- the medications should do the trick. If the meds do not work, Freddie has to go back in for hospitalization and most likely will be facing a lifetime of care and treatment.
We will continue raising funds on his behalf in case he needs hospitalization. Estimate of cost for hospitalization is $700 to $1000. Estimate does not include yesterday's exam costs ($300)
Any funds raised that are not used for Freddie's care will go into our general fund for the next pet in need.

Thank you to everyone who donated yesterday.
Freddie's family truly appreciates your support.

Because Best Friends Live Here!

Love at both ends of the leash!

Freddie Mercury age: 3 Birthday: 7/21/2021 American Staffordshire Terrier

Message from the Family. -

Freddie is my best friend; my wife and I raised him from 6 weeks old and we couldn't imagine a day without him. He is the goofiest fun-loving boy who just loves everybody and ever thing. He has the goofiest ears that can't make up their mind on what they want to do, so his nick name "Freddie Big Ears." He's my heart and soul as well as my service dog who keeps me in check from my PTSD. He means everything to me; he's not just my dog but he's my son and part of the family. He makes you laugh when you're sad or when you just need a pick me up, he is always there for me and my wife. He loves to play tug of war with anyone who is willing to play, including his sister who's a little pug.

We will update once we speak to the vet later today.
Please keep Freddie in your prayers today.

Welcome to Paw Street Freddie Mercury!
( ... those ears, right? ❤️🐾)

Many of you will remember our story from a couple of weeks ago about the pitbull that went through her family's front door.

Well, meet Demolitiom Maya!
(She has openings if you need a building torn down. Works for treats)

We aren't done with Maya just yet.
In collaboration with her family, Maya is on schedule to get vaccinated, microchipped and fixed.
Hopefully she doesn't take out the back door before then. 😁
