Off the Fence Farm

Off the Fence Farm Off the Fence Farms is a first generation family run farm in Evansville, IN. Our surplus vegetables are available for purchase "a la carte".
(23)

We are passionate about providing our local community with good affordable food produced in a way that preserves and protects our glorious earth for future generations. We are learning more every year about how best to do this and enjoy sharing what we've learned with others. We offer a vegetable CSA, dairy herd share program, and pastured eggs fed certified organic grains free of corn and soy. We

have a small work share program that we hope to expand in the coming years and we hope to branch out into fruit and meat eventually. We offer informal farm tours by appointment.

Clean out the freezer sale! We have beef bones for sale at $2/lb. Pick up is this weekend at the farm - they must be gone by Monday. I can put your bags in the walk-in cooler if you desire contactless pick up! Our current milk customers get priority but other than that I'll go in the order they're claimed. Please comment with how many pounds you want and I'll weigh it out tomorrow and message you with totals. We may have more available after Monday so don't despair if you don't get any!

We’re trying our hardest to keep the coronavirus out, geese in and dogs clean. Maybe we can at least achieve one of the above! The gates are currently kept closed to keep Lady and Tramp in the yard. We will be putting some disinfectant by the walk-in for you all to use so we can hopefully keep our milk customers as safe as possible.

🇺🇸🐴
1500 BC was the first time humans began using horses to go into battle. And they have been faithful ever since then. Now that their war days are over many find them to be useless and just a recreational project. However, I believe that our hard-working veterans could definitely use their therapeutic companionship to help them through their transition back into civilian life. So let's take a moment to thank our veterans for their service. And possibly donate to one of your favorite vet organizations to show your support.

They're working on Mill again so if you're coming from St. Joe turn on Mill as you normally would but then you'll need to veer left onto Folz. Turn right onto Mesker park drive and then right on Mill (ignore that road closed sign) and the farm will be on the left.

Come out to the Vanderburgh county fair and show your support to all the hard working kids and volunteers who come out in the gross hot weather to put on good shows, food booths and to man rides! This is my first year taking a student from my small riding facility. Audrie has been working super hard, only 13 years old and she had started riding September 2018. Not even a year of riding under her belt and she’s braving the fair (And Buddy the diva horse!) 🎉🍀

If you want to come out to the fair to show your support to all who put it on and all the kids who are showing, then I have got some information for you 🙂

We will have up to 100 lbs. of grass fed ground beef for sale. $5.25/lb. It won't be available for another 2.5-3 weeks but we're taking pre-orders. No deposit required just send a PM or email Gwen at [email protected] to reserve your beef. Current milk and equine customers get priority but otherwise it goes to whoever orders first. I will also have bones suitable for making bone broth (just bones no meat) I normally sell them for $3/lb but I'm going to offer them for $1/lb this time around due to limited storage space. Thank you!

“The single greatest lesson the garden teach is that our relationship to the planet need not be zero-sum, and that as long as the sun still shines and people still can plan and plant, think and do, we can, if we bother to try, find ways to provide for ourselves without diminishing the world.” - Michael Pollan, The Omnivore’s Dilemma

Hello farm family! We have a new little calf and need some name ideas so we can hold another poll! We have 3 suggested names so far and feel free to vote in the comments or come up with more ideas!

A little background on our newest addition, we first found him stuck in the mud outside the cowhouse trying to get to his mama. He was really wet and cold, we were pretty worried about him. His temperature was below 97 (It's supposed to be 101-102) But with a little help he got stronger and his temperature is almost completely back to normal! 😊

Cadmar, which means brave warrior
Remo, which means the strong one
Nestle, a hot chocolate brand
