Health or Medical Problems and Senior Pets
🚒
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior pet or pet with health problems, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet this contract/agreement will give Groom Room EVV permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary by Groom Room EVV. We will do our best to contact you first, then take your pet to your authorized veterinarian, or to the nearest veterinarian that is available. It is agreed that all expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the pets owner upon signing this contract/agreement.
Fleas
🪳
The Groom Room strives to be a Flea-free salon. If your pet has a heavy flea infestation we will ask that you reschedule your grooming appointment once the flea problem is under control OR your pet will be treated at your cost of $20 ADDED to the final price of the groom. Pets with flea infestation carry a risk of anemia, infections, tapeworms and other health problems. We recommend that you contact your veterinarian for advice on the best treatment for your situation. A topical monthly flea preventative may be the most effective choice. Over the counter flea treatments sold in pet stores are usually not effective, and some can even be dangerous for your pet.Treating all pets in the family, as well as treating your home and yard will help in keeping fleas under control for the long term, and pets and family comfortable and healthy.
Accidents
✂️
There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of the nails, etc. in most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. If you arrive to pick up your pet and he/she is still being groomed please do NOT talk to your pet. Once they see you, he/she will be anxious to go home. It is best not to come early to pick up your pet.
Scheduling
📆
We do our best to get your pet in as absolutely soon as possible. However, due to our high demand, we may not always be able to get you in the same day or next day. Please pre-book your appointments or notify us a few days in advance so we can be sure to save you a spot.
Matted Pets
🐕
Pets with severely matted coats need extra attention. Mats in a pet's coat grow tight, and can strangle the pet's skin, or eventually tear it open. The Groom Room EVV will not cause undue stress to your pet by dematting. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can even harbor maggots. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Prevention is the best defense against matting by scheduling regular grooming appointments. Groom Room EVV will always communicate If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, by signing below you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure and any risk.
Pick Up Times, No-shows and Fees
⏰
As a low volume salon working exclusively with one dog at a time from start to finish I do my very best to schedule plenty of time with each pet - plus enough extra time between appointments to prevent a new dog arriving before the previous dog has gone home. I know you will enjoy this same special service for your own pet, so please arrive for your scheduled appointment on time – and plan to pick up your dog within 30 minutes after completion, unless previous arrangements have been made (arrangements made at the time of scheduling appointment). By signing below, you are aware that there may be a fee of $1 per minute until your pet is picked up. Arriving 15 minutes later than your original appointment time will be counted as a no show, your appointment will be canceled and you will be asked to reschedule. All No shows are charged a 100% fee of the scheduled service, the fee must be paid before the Groom Room EVV will groom your pet at a later date.
