Announcing our June Volunteer of the Month - Mark Jewell!!
Mark has been a vital part of our team since February 2018. Married to Robin, he is a proud father of four children and three dogs. An avid lover of fishing and outdoor activities, Mark finds joy in nature and bringing that enthusiasm to his volunteer work.
Mark's Contributions:
Transport Assistance: Mark tirelessly helps with the transportation of animals, ensuring they safely reach their new homes or necessary medical appointments. Just a few weeks ago, he transported a special needs puppy to Nashville for us!
Fostering: He opens his heart to foster animals, providing them with the love and care they need until they find their forever homes.
Fundraising Efforts: Mark is instrumental in raising funds for the rescue, ensuring we have the resources needed to continue our mission.
Professional Life:
Owner of Daisy's Pet Playground: Mark's business not only serves the community's pets but also provides a safe haven for fostering dogs, especially mom and pup families. Daisy's also has been a venue for ITV fundraisers, including Pet Photos with Santa!
Founder of Daisy's New Beginnings: Inspired by an ITV dog named Molly, who required extraordinary vet care due to special needs, Mark started this nonprofit to support local animal rescues.
Why He Helps: Mark believes in the importance of helping because the need is great. He has a special place in his heart for dogs who require extra care, like special needs dogs Molly, Blue and Nemo.
Biggest Surprise About Volunteering: Mark has been pleasantly surprised by how many of his staff have adopted rescue animals and how many of the rescues he sees after adoption. It's a testament to the community's involvement in animal rescue.
Lessons Learned: Through his volunteer work, Mark has learned the importance of maintaining faith despite the challenges. He understands that it's easy to become jaded but stresses the importance of recognizing the ongoing need for help.
๐พ We have been asked to take this Momma and her 3 puppies but cannot help without a foster home. Momma does have kennel cough so she needs a home without other animals or one where she can be kept completely separate. If you can help by fostering this sweet family, please complete a foster application at itvrescue.org.

These precious puppies have overcome so much already. They have survived a devastating fire and have shown incredible strength and resilience as they healed from their burns. Despite their tough start in life, they are full of love and zest for life. Please send them good vibes as they continue their journey of recover. ITVrescue.org.
Burn victim update: All 5 are still alive and have made it through the most concerning first 48 hours of burn trauma. They are eating and drinking on their own and taking their oral meds. The vet team was able to stop the IV fluids, but they are continuing burn treatment management. Again, we can't thank enough Warrick Veterinary Clinics for providing outstanding vet care! We also thank everyone who have donated to date, ensuring that the guys receive the best possible vet care. We will provide more updates as we have them!
Tommy can walk!!
Have we mentioned lately how wonderful our foster families are??? Tommy was a neglected breeding dog we took in about 2 months ago. He couldnโt walk when we took him in as his back legs were not functioning.
His foster put in a lot of work with him and gave him the treatment and care he desperately needed! We are delighted to report that Tommy can walk again! He looks so much better too. Thank you fosters! You continue to amaze us!!
๐พ๐ It's $5 Friday: Help Us Save A Special Needs Puppy!๐๐พ
Nemo is a special needs puppy with Spina bifida, a birth defect of the spine. ITV recently took him into our rescue and took him to a specialist in Indy. Nemo will need therapy and continuing care, but the specialist said that he has a chance for a happy life. His vet bills currently are about $1000. With just $5, you can make a world of difference for Nemo. Will you consider a donation of $5 or more to help us save Nemo? Donations gratefully accepted on this post or at:
