This gal has been experiencing a common concern for an older and/or increasingly sedentary pup - her nail quicks (the inside or cuticle) had grown too long to safely trim her nails. Her momma has been bringing her every two weeks to us diligently the past couple of months, so we can safely get her quicks to recede and her nails can be maintained shorter for her, which makes them less prone to cracking and becoming infected and also can be painful to walk on if they’re too long.

Nail quicks can easily become too long in older pets because they’re not as active as they once were and spend more time on soft surfaces instead of running and playing which just naturally helps keeps nails shorter.

The good news! It’s pretty easy to train those nail quicks to recede by frequently, carefully, and consistently trimming the nails little bit by little bit.

If you’re having a concern with your pup's nails, let us help. Good nail health matters! ❤️ Candy is a lucky gal whose Momma knows that and wants her senior pup to stay healthy!

"The More You Know" moment:
Not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" but sometimes, you gotta say things out loud. Unrelated to the weather, we've had quite an uptick in "No Shows" lately. You see, we have a pretty amazing customer software app that sends reminders for appointments. We also can see when customers receive those reminders. We go out of our way to accommodate and change appointments when a customer needs that and communicates with us - we pride ourselves on good customer service and we also understand that things happen last minute.

But, please don't be "that guy" and no show on us. Most pet groomers in the area are increasingly "booked up" - there are other customers that we could put in that appointment, if we know ahead of time. Most pet groomers in the area are also small businesses - our income comes from appointments and tips. Please don't take money out of a pet groomer's pocket just because you don't want to call or email that you need to change an appointment.

If you No-Show, we will charge you a fee and require you to keep a card on file going forward with a non-refundable Deposit required for you to book your next appointment. We understand if someone finds that unreasonable and wants to find another option. If you're going to No-Show, then we can't count on your business anyway and we wish you the best someplace else. ✌️
