6/22/24 Dog Food 101 Group

What a fun group today! We learned how to read labels, moisture content of different foods (kibble, freeze dried, air/steam dried), how to keep our pets hydrated, and, of course, had our Doggo Buffet open 😋
All the puppers did such a great job trying new foods. Some even found out they Really liked foods like Quail. We also had fresh foods - A simmering pot of veggies with beef broth and dill, and some cold treats like homemade goat keifer bites with fruits or greens, along with probiotic rich yogurt.
A big shout out to our partners that made sure everyone took home a goodie bag to help their pets be the absolute best they can be!!

6/20/24 60 Minute Private Lesson

Miss Maggie's family brought her in today because she likes to incessantly bark at all kinds of things (The neighbors dogs, delivery drivers, company-she's recently started nipping and biting-Oh My!)
Maggie has an e-fence at home for when she's outside, so today we showed mom, dad and big brother how to use a Dogtra collar to create the same boundaries inside the house and with people and other animals!
This family is Amazing ❤ I'm so proud of what you accomplished today and I can't wait to work with Maggie again

6/19/24 K9 Angels Class Level III (on their own)

Tonight, we did not have any scheduled K9 Angels classes; too many were on vacation. So my Level III class (senior level) took it upon themselves to plan a field trip to practice for their upcoming final next week.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🐾 Well done teams! I'm so proud of your dedication! Many classes have done this but I usually don't find out until afterwards... good for you!!!!

This is what happens with a small group of teams working hard for the same goal. If you have ever considered having your dog becoming a Therapy Dog, right now is the time to start! Look on our website to start with Freshman and Sophomore classes and then transition to K9 Angels.

6/18/24 60 Minute Private Lesson

Mom and Dad brought Stuart in today because he wasn't walking nicely on leash and he liked to bark at cars, and other dogs on walks.
Turns out Stuart was a nervous boy so we worked him through our Confidence Building Course. He wasn't sure about it in the beginning but eventually he decided he Really liked the Klimbs, a little ZIWI, and the weave poles

Luna came back today to get a little exercise in the air conditioning! She's still nervous about new obstacles but she conquered the tunnel and several of the fit paws challenges! She even took a couple ZIWI treats! Sometimes just touching something new is all it takes to open up a whole new world.

6/12/24 Level III K9 Angels Week 4

New elevator with a large window, practicing for the AKC CGCU and commands test. It was all good. It’s great to teach in a different location for the doggos to get more exposure. They did great! ♥️🐾

6/11/24 30 Minute Private Lesson

The whole family joined the fun today. Indy knew her way around since she's passed Sophomore K9 and attended group Confidence Building so today was a great opportunity to show her brother Reggie who's just 6 months old how it's done. Their junior pack leaders did an Amazing job helping both dogs navigate all the challenges of our course! A great big round of aPaws for this family ❤

6/11/24 30 Minute Private Lesson
Cari recently finished Freshman K9 but mom was looking for some additional options to help Cari be less sassy.
We worked through several things in our Confidence course - her favorite was the klimbs with a few challenges added. Then we explored some puzzles and finished with a little calm touch technique.

Luka came in for some crate training today. The family's schedule has changed and Luka was not happy about spending more time in her kennel while the family is away at work.
Our ZIWI steam dried definitely helped make the kennel a more positive experience!

Nova came in with her family, including her junior pack leader Brenton. Brenton's only 5 but he did an Awesome job training Nova!
He was even able to get her to walk on the "yellow discs"! 💛

6/10/24 30 Minute Private Lesson

Luna came in today because she was reacting to other dogs on walks. She is also pushing limits with mom and dad over food. Her behavior is now limiting how much she can get out 😪
Knowing that Luna Needs to exercise we took advantage of our Confidence Building course. She started out Super unsure but trusted mom and dad. By the end of our time, her tail was up and she was trying all kinds of new obstacles!! I'm so proud of Luna and her hoomans!! Stay tuned for more updates on Luna ❤

This cutie came in today because she was being sassy with mom and dad. Biting, barking, and not walking well.
We went over our 4 leadership rules, picked the perfect slip lead,took advantage of our confidence course, added a little ZIWI air dried - and mom and dad got to see what a good girl their pup can be!!

3/1/24 60 Minute Private Lesson Mom and Thor came last December for barking and growling at people. And they are now doing GREAT with people even their company can visit without hassel! Now he is barking, lunging, and growling at dogs. She brought in her remote collar and I trained her on how to use it. We also worked on building up his confidence and trust in her! I am so excited to let you know that we are moving our K9 Therapy Dog Classes to WEDNESDAYS now (no Tuesdays). A new set of classes begins on Wed, October 11, 2023. If you have taken K9U's Freshman class and successfully passed our K9 Angels Interview, you can now sign up for your classes! On the website the classes are listed and ready to sign up (towards the bottom of the page to the right). We have so much fun in this program with our Dog Teams, that it should almost be illegal. :) Bonding with your dog while serving the public is absolute perfection. Our K9 Angels Teams bring so much joy to other humans that it is too rewarding for words. And if you have been on the fence about the program, I will start Angel Interviews on Oct. 11th as well, sign up on our website! The interview process is to ensure that your dog's temperament is well suited for this program. I will teach you to train your dog on heeling, sits, stays, etc. So don't worry if they aren't perfectly trained, that's what the program is for! 4/18/23 Sophomore K9 Angels Week 5 We are now selling Blue-9 KLIMB Dog Training Platforms. Team Winnie is absolutely adorable but does not, and I mean NOT want to do a stay command. Her handler worked with her for weeks and 10 minutes on the KLIMB platform, she did a down stay. The team bought one on the spot (along with another team). So excited for them and how they will improve! -saundra
