Meet the Metazotics Team! Week 5!
Meet Wendy! (AKA Wendy Lou, AKA Wendall, AKA Boo, AKA Rodent Lady)
Wendy is married to Clint (I know, I know, lucky gal... if you laughed too hard at that we can't be friends) and truthfully, she is who runs the show 🤷♂️As far as how long she has worked at Metazotics... she says if cleaning the rodent cages that feed the collection owned by Metazotics counts, she's worked here around 12 years 😅 As one of the owners of Metazotics, Wendy certainly isn't a "this is all I do" or "that isn't my job" individual. Those gorgeous Metameal salads... Wendy buys and preps all the veggies and fruits that goes in to them as well as ensures that there is always a variety of salads available. She also works the cricket shipments, handles plant care, customer assistance, animal care organization, and several administrative responsibilities. The biggest contribution from Wendy each and every week is she cleans all of the rodent cages and is responsible for rodent production. She keeps our and your animals fed!
Wendy's favorite TV show is Yellowstone and her favorite musician is Eric Church. Trust me on this, if she has a glass of wine in her hand and she puts Eric on, things are about to get loud 😅 Wendy loves to hunt, fish, and do any type of work outside. When asked if she had any idols in the hobby she said "The Drury Brothers. Oh wait, I thought we were talking about hunting!" lol She doesn't really consider herself "in" the hobby, but she has helped and supported me (Clint) for the last 12 years in a whatever crazy reptile idea I had. And I mean... she cleans the rodents... how awesome is that!? Wendy's favorite reptile is the bearded dragon. It was her first and is certainly her passion here at the shop. Her favorite part about working at Metazotics is working with the beardies, but says the worst part is having to clean beardie p**p 😂
In ten years, Wendy hopes to be spending most of her time on the property we own in Pike county, where she will be gardening, harvesting, hunting, and fishing. I think that sounds like an EXCELLENT plan. Not sure if we will be able to spare her from the store by then though... she does too much! Wendy runs all of the errands for the store and the family, keeps everything in order and on time, and quite frankly keeps things moving in the direction that it should. Thank you so much for all of the early mornings and late nights, the 12 plus hour days, all of the hard work you do each and every day, and somehow still making sure I eat lunch. Love you boo!
