🎉 Happy 1st Birthday to our "GossipGirl" litter!!! 🎉

I can't believe that it's already been a year since we welcomed you into the world! In some ways, it feels like yesterday that we were getting all the puppy snuggles, laughing at your antics, helping to form your view of the world, and building a solid foundation for life in your new homes. There were some very long nights, an unexplainable illness that could have taken out the whole litter, a ton of curriculum work, and so much p**p!!! BUT, it was all worth it because watching all of you go out into the world and thrive in your new homes, heal hearts, and bring joy and companionship to your new families is why we do what we do at Big Top Doodles. It has been an honor and a privilege to follow all of your journeys! I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of you! Happy birthday, sweet ones!!!

UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY!

This sweet girl was returned to us last week due to no fault of her own. Fanci is a 9 month old Double Doodle (goldendoodle x labradoodle). She is from our fall 2023 GossipGirl litter. She is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and embark tested. She is fully potty trained, crate trained, knows basic obedience, does great in the car, and is doing well on leash. Fanci is extremely smart, food motivated, and human focused which enables her to learn new things very quickly. Her personality is extremely sweet, eager to please, playful, and cuddly.

This is a rare opportunity to bring home a young dog that is still a moldable puppy but past the phase of sleepless nights, endless chewing, and accidents in the house. There is a rehoming fee. Please share this post and help me find Fanci her perfect forever family! If you are interested in more information please reach out to me directly.

While we were in North Carolina last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Cooper (formerly Nate from our GossipGirl litter) in his new home. His parents, Don and Dana, are incredible people, and we are so blessed that they have chosen to keep in touch and send us regular pupdates. They have become like extended family and played an integral part in matching Koda with his new family. We were graciously welcomed into their home so we could visit Cooper while we were in the neighborhood. Don was very proud to show us where he hung the art my girls made in his man cave, which the girls were thrilled to see! It was a joy to see how much Cooper has grown and how well-behaved he is! We can't wait to go back and visit in the future and taste Don's delicious BBQ!

Koda (formerly Dan) was such a good boy last week on our adventure to get him to his new family! We left Seattle on Monday morning and took a direct flight into Charleston, SC. He did incredible on the flight and didn't even get sick despite the turbulence we experienced. We checked into our Airbnb, got Koda some much needed dinner, and then went to bed so we could be up early to make the 3 hour drive to North Carolina. I can't even begin to express how impressed I was with Koda's resilience and confidence through so many very big new experiences. He handled it like a pro! Every stop we made along our journey he would take a minute to check things out and then immediately roll over for a belly rub! After a few stops along the way to go to the bathroom, get some water, and stretch our legs, we finally made it to his new home. His new people and his older goldendoodle sister, Harley, were excitedly waiting for us to arrive. It didn't take Koda long to warm up and make himself right at home. We are so blessed that the Ottos found us and decided to welcome Koda into their family! Bonus for Koda, his brother Cooper lives in the same neighborhood, and there are many playdates in their future!

On the road from Charleston, SC to Bolivia, NC to finally meet his new family!

Dan did amazing traveling yesterday. He handled the flight like a pro and showed confidence and resilience through all of our travels! All of the socialization, exposure excersizes, and work that we put in definitely paid off and allowed Dan to travel in a calm state of mind. I couldn't be more proud of him!

We've been a little absent on social media lately, but boy, have we been busy! We have a lot going on at Big Top Doodles (changes being made, breeding pairings being planned, continued training being done, etc) and are excited for what the future holds for our program.

This sweet "little" man is getting ready for a very big transition! For the past few weeks, we've been getting Dan ready to travel to the East Coast to join his new family. There have been lots of travel conditioning and airplane noise exposure activities to get him ready to fly. He passed his vet visit for a health certificate with flying colors and was a perfect gentleman through the entire visit, not even blinking an eye when he got his rabies vaccine. I can't believe that the day is almost here for us to put all this training to work. Tomorrow is a big day for Dan as we will be flying to Charleston and then driving to North Carolina to finally meet his new family, who is so excited for him to finally join them!

Stay tuned to follow our travel adventures!

This sweet boy is still hoping to find his forever family! I'm honestly surprised that he is still with us because he is the sweetest, most human focused puppy from his litter!

"Dan" is now 22 weeks old. He has finished his puppy vaccines, is microchipped, and has been cleared by our vet. He has been raised in our home using a thorough curriculum and is now fully crate trained, doing exceptionally well with potty training, and has been so easy to work with on basic training because he's so intelligent and eager to please! He has been exposed to grooming practices since he was a week old and is always a perfect gentleman while being bathed and groomed. He loves to play but is able to self entertain very well. He is relatively calm for a puppy his age and is always ready to snuggle. He is going to be an incredible companion/family dog!

"Dan" is a standard Double Doodle (goldendoodle x labradoodle). He will likely be between 50 and 60 pounds when he is fully grown. He has a beautiful coat that is extremely soft with loose wavy curls (less grooming required compared to a super curly doodle). He will likely fade to a beautiful silver color (you can see it starting on his legs and across his chest).

If you would like more information about how to add this beautiful sweet soul to your family, please message us directly!

Bitter Sweet Announcement and Rare Opportunity!!!

We have made the very difficult decision to retire Willa from our program. The decision wasn't an easy one as we love her dearly. It was something we carefully considered before coming to the conclusion that it is what is best for her to retire her from breeding, in spite of our personal feelings. She has had 2 beautiful litters and produces incredible puppies, but sadly, we feel as though she just has no desire to be a mom. After her 1st litter, we questioned if she liked being a mom, but with this second litter, it has become clear that she certainly does not. You can look at some dogs and see that they are happiest when they have puppies to raise. Willa is not one of those dogs. It is very important in our breeding program that we honor all of our dogs, adults and puppies alike. Willa is telling us that she doesn't want to be a mom and we are choosing to honor that for her.

We will be looking for Willa's perfect forever family so she can live the rest of her life to the fullest and have the love, attention, and adventure that she wants and deserves. She would do best in a very active home. She does require a secure, fully fenced yard as she is very agile and intelligent. We would prefer she not go to a home with cats or small free roaming animals as she will chase them. Because she is extremely intelligent, she will need a family who knows how to handle how smart she is. We would prefer she go to an experienced dog owner. Willa is 2.5 years old F1 Labradoodle. She is crate trained, potty trained, basic obedience trained, and does well on leash and in the car. She does great with other dogs. However, she has had a few incidents with other females when she was in heat of had newborn puppies (should be a nonissue once she's spayed). She is high energy, very loving, easy to train, and ultimately just wants to be with "her person" as much as possible. She definitely has the potential to make a great hunting dog or agility dog in addition to being a wonderful companion. She is current on vaccines and will go to her new family with a strict spay contract. If you are interested in more information please message us directly.

SPOTTED! The GossipGirl Litter turning 6 weeks old!!!

These little nuggets are growing up so fast! The past few weeks have been crazy and so much has changed for these little guys, but they have all shown resiliency and handled all the changes like champs! They were introduced to mush and have graduated to kibble. They moved out of my bedroom and are handling life in the living room beautifully. They have been given more space in their puppy area twice and continue to go to the bathroom only on the potty pads. They have been exposed to different tactile objects that they now walk/run across without slowing down. They have mastered the slide. They handle loud, sudden noises beautifully. The puppy wrestling and rough housing has increased, and they are teaching each other appropriate play time behavior. This week, we will introduce some extended noise desensitization (fireworks, sirens, alarms, etc). I can't believe we are only 2 weeks from these beautiful babies joining their new families!!!

We still have a few puppies hoping their forever families find them! If you would like more information please PM us. We would love to chat with you!

Happy Belated Birthday to our "Jurassic" litter!!!

Yesterday, Charlie, Luna, Finn, Beau, Henry, Ellie, June, Laika, Wesley, Charley, Malcolm, and Olive turned 1 year old! I can't believe the time flew by so fast!!! I'm happy to report that all of these puppies (including the 3 not pictured) are wonderful family dogs, great companions to their people, and are all living their best lives. It was a true honor to be able to whelp these beautiful puppies, give them a solid foundation for life outside of our home, and hear that they are all growing up to be incredible dogs. Seeing how much they are enriching the lives of their families, healing hearts, and bringing joy is the reason we breed!

Happy birthday, sweet babies!!! We can't wait to see all the adventures and love that the coming year will bring!

He's back!!!

Yesterday, I went and spent about an hour with Malcolm and his family before bringing him back to us. He was very clearly loved and adored by them, but it was also clear that he needed more mental stimulation and structure than they were able to provide due to some recent life changes outside of their control.

Since being back in our home, Malcolm has been a complete doll. He did great on our car ride home (didn't get sick or even slobbery), has asked to go outside when he needs to go to the bathroom, is getting along great with all of our other dogs, and was an angel in the crate overnight. He struggles with appropriate ways to ask for attention and has a habit of jumping up on people. We have already started working on this issue and implemented a strict "all four on the floor" rule (he is given zero attention unless all 4 of his feet are firmly planted on the floor). Malcolm is extremely intelligent, and this rule is working beautifully! We're already seeing big improvement. He does need continued work with manners and boundaries, but that is very typical for an 11 month old puppy.

I initially thought I would need several days to evaluate Malcolm, but he is showing me that I don't. He is the same sweet, goofy boy that left us! Malcolm would do well in a variety of homes. He loves children, and we would like to see him go to a family with kids (over the age of 5). He will need a securely fenced yard and a home with no free roaming small animals (he will chase them when he's bored if he isn't being supervised but not in an aggressive way). Because of his love for all people and his sweet, loving nature, Malcolm would also be suited for therapy work once he has had a little more training. He would love to go to work every day with his new family!

This is a rare opportunity to add one of our older puppies who already has a solid foundation of training to your family. Malcolm is current on vaccines, microchipped, leash trained, house trained, and crate trained. If you would like more information please message us!
