When the calendar says Sept. but your soul says Summer:
Bodie added some #PlayTraining onto his boarding! We worked on his “drop” and “leave it” becoming more practiced and consistent (and he had a ton of fun in the process😉)
Pearl, this sound was made for you!!
Training isn’t about perfection, it’s about PROGRESS. Every training program of ours is catered to the dog inside of it and Luca was a shining example of that! Luca challenged our training team to think outside the box and to practice patience. He graduated from our #boardandtrain program today a more confident fella with room to continue to grow and succeed now that he’s back with his family. We’re so excited to pass the torch to them! Cheers to you, Luca!! 💗
This is our new friend Hersh! Hersh is a #dachshund who has started going forward at people during moments of discomfort. Today, Sam used play to gain his trust and to teach dog-and-dad how to utilize consent when meeting pwople. Play also allowed us to start to show Hersh how to navigate the feelings of escalation and deescalation. They started play training first with no social pressure and with space between them—and of course while on leash all to promote safety and boundaries. They were then able to add social pressure and mimicry play while getting on the same visual plane. They were THEN able to utilize “play with me” which wields the most trust between playmates. Hersh is well on his way to being a calm cool and collected office dog 😉 ! See you next week, buddy!!
#Day2 of breakfast with Luca 😌 Happy Friday, everyone ❤️
Today Sam got to work with Bingo on one of her favorite things…RESOURCE GUARDING!🤩 He rolled his eyes and muttered some version of “I hate this lady” a few times, but by the end of the lesson, both the approach and the drop felt way more consensual and way less confrontational. Practice makes progress…Bingo was a shining example of that 😌 #resourceguarding #dogtraining #boston
No first day jitters here! Logan the #GSD puppy is having a BLAST
Sally graduates from her board and train this week!! Today, we worked on mission impossible…aka IMPULSE CONTROL! Yay Sally!!
Sophie 🤝 the agility jumps #fromyesterday
Today is Kayla’s Christmas! Why? LOOK AT ALL DEM HUSKIES!! #husky #doggydaycare
The end goal of proper ECollar training means that you’re hardly ever actually pressing any buttons. When your dog has a deep understanding of/for leash pressure, and is extremely consistent when it comes to the foundation of the basics, then layering in the “invisable leash”, aka the ECollar, unlocks a life of freedom for your dog while the handler still has control. Ps, Olive’s working level is 8/100; her correction is vibrate. Cheers, folks. Happy trainin’!#dogtraining #boston #offleashtraining
This is our “new” friend Luca🐾 We’ve known him as a confident daycare/boarding pup for some time now but are just starting to get to know him as the fearful guy he truly is in the training sphere. Luca is an #englishgolden who had a difficult start to life…since then though, his people have worked hard to understand his –isms and diet (iykyk) and now the next step is professional help to get them to the next level. Luca’s goals include overall confidence, focus outside, recall, car confidence, and to maybe even attend the occasional hometown softball game 🤞 Stay tuned to see how hard Luca works and how far Luca gets!!
After months of Spud playing hard to get… Bingo finally unlocked the key to his heart! These two LOVE each other now!!! 💗💗💗
We use play A LOT with all of our training dogs. Structured play teaches your dogs boundaries, builds confidence, and strengthens the dog-to-handler relationship. Kasey was learning the value of play while uncomfortable during busy morning dropoff, Sally used play to build recall, and Remy got to play as a reward/break from super tiring “puppy pushups”Great work everyone!! #FromYesterday !
What does a room of 4 well balanced dogs look like? A little something like this! In terms of windows, JB&Pickles: play with me, Lana+Spud: find your own fun, Olive: chill/do nothing
What goes thru Kasey’s mind when looking at the training staff? Probably something along the lines of this 😂
