Watch out for this type of thrush this winter! It is very easy to overlook and can lead to heel pain if let go too far.

Anyone who has been following my page or who I trim for should already know about this, but I can't help posting good examples when I have them!

This is a deep central sulcus infection.
There is missing tissue
The central sulcus is destabilized.
There is infection present - smell your hoofpick to find out.
The split continues into the hairline which can be painful.
This will not clear up on its own - you must treat.

In this case, I'm surprised at how bad it got since last trim cycle. It definitely wasn't here 5 weeks ago.

I opened up the frog flaps and pushed Artimud all the way down into the crevice. Half my finger and the whole pick of my hoof pick disappeared into this.

While we are not in the mud at the moment, still watch out for those abcesses! They can cause discomfort and further damage if not dealt with. This one was hiding under some false sole and was causing the horse to be lame.

Red light laser is one of the other many therapies we offer. We have a Brandenburg Equine Therapy laser as well as a RevitaVet poll cap and a few other small pieces.

With the laser we are able to spot treat and treat your animal all over. Research has shown that red light laser reduces the cells and enzymes responsible for causing inflammation and increases antioxidant and anti-inflammatory enzymes. It is natural healing and non-invasive, no side effect treatment. This works well for any injuries or any sore areas in general.

The Poll cap can be used in conjunction with any of our other therapies. It is a very effective tool for calming hoses down. The device can be used for frontal sinuses, TMJ, first and second vertebra as well as primary acupuncture points in the area. One of the many services that we offer is PEMF also known as Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. We have a blanket from Activo-Med USA that we love being able to offer.

It offers the following:
