As the co-founder of The Smith Corp., I collaborate with my husband, ALS, across multiple creative ventures, including Hoda Block Records, ArteDeMiVida Productions, and Smith Diseño Haus. From music and fashion to film and photography, we bring our vision to life—on our own terms. My sound is raw, soulful, and deeply personal, drawing from hip-hop, boom bap, and underground influences. I mix, sample, and create with turntables and an MPC, crafting music that speaks to the moment. My filmmaking explores the intersections of identity, activism, and expression, inspired by comic book aesthetics, hip-hop culture, and the beauty of everyday life. I believe in art as revolution, music as healing, and fashion as storytelling. Whether through vibrant visuals, heavy beats, or cinematic storytelling, my work is about honoring where I come from and shaping where I’m going. The Journey

The entire story of our journey to even get to this point is a long one with many triumphs, failures, sighs, enjoyment, laughter, sweat, tears & finally, the starting point. But nothing comes easy that’s worth doing. Persistence is a key factor along with learning along the way, not taking anything too personal, or for granted & understanding cannabis is just a plant. At last, the story has truly only just begun....

What is most important about the name Bound By Roots, is that, this is a lifestyle to us. Born & raised Washingtonians growing up in a cannabis lifestyle; family & friends were home grow farmers and a part of the movement in Rochester, Washington at Rainbow Valley in a very grey area until, Washington in November 1998 passed Initiative 692 aka I-692 Medical Use of Ma*****na Act.

Growing up, cannabis was just as normal as any other vice. Aging into farmers ourselves and pushing into the medical market we realize the passion takes form in many botanical, apothecary & alchemic ways. Truly encompassing the lifestyle, you realize how Bound By The Root you are.

When Bound By The Root, you also see how everything is connected. Bound By Roots farm cares about our environment and what we leave behind. As experienced lifestyle farmers, you will find a consistent high terpene’d, tight bud in many various strains; with many ways to consume & benefit from our organically grown, pesticide free cannabis. You will also find our carbon footprint to be very low and one of the first companies in the market to utilize h**p plastic joint tubes.
