There are not enough of us paying attention to and working with and on behalf of animals. We need every one.

We strive for and appreciate collaboration, community, and support for those doing the work in all of the ways (compassionate and thoughtful care of individual animals, animal advocacy, academia, animal welfare, animal-centered businesses and nonprofits, adopters, fosters, shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries – to name a few).

Our friends at NARN ( Northwest Animal Rights Network ) say: “Animal advocates must stand in solidarity with our comrades in other movements fighting for equality, social justice, and an end to colonialism. It’s our duty as advocates for sentient beings to love and fight for all beings. As we move forward for nonhuman animals, we must not forget our fellow human beings in our struggles for liberation.”

Rooster Haus Rescue's auction starts today at noon and continues through Mon. at 8 pm. There are so many great items to bid on including from some deliciousness from some of our favorite local Everett places Sno-Isle Food Co-op and Cup & Crêpe Handheld Street Crepes. There are also two consults from Shel Graves Animal Consulting available for dog training, dog or cat behavior help, or animal chaplaincy. Links to those in the comments.

A letter to our community from the founder:

Our board has been discussing the timing of our upcoming auction. We know that our audience may be taking time to process the results of the election. We also realize that social media is probably dominated by political news currently and that the algorithms may not work in our favor.

With that, we know how necessary community, hope, and joy are in times of grief and chaos. Our yearly auction has, and always will be, a time of joy within a safe community. We hope that you'll still want to join in on the Haus auction fun or perhaps use this time as a healthy distraction.

This auction is our biggest fundraising event of the year. It not only significantly helps our deserving residents get the care they need but also makes holiday shopping much more fun and easier for you.

This year's vet care costs have been especially high with our many aging residents. Because of this, we've included more items in this year's auction than we've ever had.

Our incredible board has worked especially hard this year, and we've had some fabulous donations from our friends and lovely supporters.

We understand this may be a tricky time for our auction, but we hope you'll choose to at least take a peek and consider joining in on this fun time with us.
