Shelter Update ❤️

We have an important update to share. Recently, the shelter made a $6,600 payment to our previous landlord, covering two additional months of rent. We also sent him payment for two months of leasing fees, and surrendered our deposit of $2900. This brings our total payment to him to $13,300. AND we connected him with someone interested in leasing the property.

We’ve informed him that this is our final offer and the maximum amount the shelter can reasonably afford. Despite our efforts, he may still choose to pursue legal action. In fact, he is likely following this post. Please know that if that happens, we are prepared to stand our ground and fight for what’s right for the ferrets.

This payment leaves us with just enough funds to get through November and December until our winter fundraiser. We understand this is a temporary situation, and we’re excited and hopeful for the future.

But the holidays are one of the toughest times of year for shelters—donations often slow down, while surrenders increase. We've taken in 15 strays in the past 2-3 months, conducted our first Saturday adoption, and Vondelle organized a life-saving surgery for Tater Tot to be reunited with his family

It’s official! Our first Saturday adoption in our new digs went off without a hitch!!! I am so happy Kai accepted his new brothers and he is lonely no longer!!! Now the family gets a happy trio of beasty boys & I can’t wait to see them all for the next photoshoot
