This is Happy. He was also surrendered yesterday! Seems to be sable month. It was a busy weekend for surrenders at WFRS and we have 5 more surrenders coming in this week 🤪

It was all hands on deck at the shelter Saturday. Mev & Lyra came to clean cages and Rachelle Myers , Kevin Farlee and Vondelle McLaughlin joined me for some planning around our Open House! It was a busy and productive day 😀

Another ferret left the shelter for her new home but this little girl is more lucky than most. Beautiful and delicate Charlene found her furever home with Kevin Farlee !! Charlene is elderly and also blind. She'll be in the lap of luxury now 🥰

Today was another busy day at the shelter. The volunteers were hard at work cleaning cages and also taking care of the exterior. Oh and folding A LOT of laudry!

Today is another medical day!! We will have both of our consulting vets in the shelter completing evaluations on our new adoptable friends. As soon as we are finished, we look forward to an open house with our volunteers and supporters. In the meantime, Vondelle McLaughlin and Kevin Farlee will review adoption applications received during the Holidays. There are more than a few cute faces searching for their furever homes

The WFRS Board has elected Kenn Krook as Assistant Treasurer. Kenn has an MBA with a minor in change leadership, an MS in Project Management, and an MS in Healthcare Administration with an emphasis in leadership. He was also a Sergeant in the US Army before leaving service to be a federal employee managing a budget for the Department of Engineers. He adopted his first ferret Rickie when he was 15. And has been a volunteer and foster parent for more than a decade.

As assistant treasurer he will combine his love of ferrets with his leadership experience, knowledge managing budgets and his experience creating medical systems. Welcome to the team Kenn!
