Next Wednesday (6/11) at 6PM, join .river.watershed , , and The Great Malden Outdoors for a conversation with Mardi Fuller ( ), a lifelong backcountry adventurer and the first known Black person to hike all 48 of New Hampshire’s high peaks in the winter.

Mardi’s mission is to support communities of color to self-determine in outdoor recreation and in the conservation movement. Join us to hear her discuss the societal forces that enable the persistent exclusion from full nature access that people of color face, as well as her personal experiences connecting with nature and navigating the mainstream outdoor culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who’s ready to turn vision into action, build strong, inclusive teams, and ensure community voices are at the center of everything we do. You’ll be a vital part of our journey — and will help support our amazing, ever-growing staff as we continue to grow and deepen our impact in Everett.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

✔️ 5+ years of experience in nonprofit or community program leadership
✔️ A deep commitment to racial, economic, and language justice
✔️ Experience with program design, staff supervision, and community engagement
✔️ Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole? That’s a big plus!

At ECG, Earth Day is more than a celebration—it’s a moment to reflect on how we live, connect, and care for the world around us. It calls us to reimagine our relationship with the Earth, not as something separate from us, but as something we’re deeply a part of. As we look toward building a more sustainable and just future, we ground ourselves in the truth that this path was first shaped by the care, wisdom, and stewardship of Indigenous peoples, whose relationship with the land laid the foundation for all of us. 🌎✨🌱

Spend outside — Volunteer with us to plant trees this week! 🌳

Volunteers will work in teams of 3-4 to plant bare root trees. Youth 13 and under are welcome to participate with a parent or guardian present. Youth 14+ can volunteer with a registration form filled out by a parent or guardian beforehand. All supplies will be provided.

Dear ECG Customers, Friends, Neighbors, Partners, and Supporters,

Thank you for your concern and support following the unexpected demolition of our Broadway Farm yesterday. We knew we had to vacate the space due to the City’s planned construction at Old Everett High School, and had requested updates for over a month on when we could work to relocate our beds and equipment. We received no response until we were informed on Thursday that the beds would be dismantled and taken away on Friday at 9:30am. When our team arrived at 8:15am on Friday to salvage materials, the beds had already been dismantled, and the area was being flattened.

We are deeply disheartened, as we had hoped to invite our community to help carefully clear the farm and honor the past three years of growing and distributing fresh, affordable produce from that wonderful space. Unfortunately, that opportunity is now lost.

Despite this setback, our commitment to urban farming remains strong. We will continue operating our Northern Strand Community Farm and plan to open for the season this spring. Please follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter to stay updated.

Gracias por su preocupación y apoyo tras la inesperada demolición de nuestra granja de Broadway ayer. Sabíamos que teníamos que desalojar el espacio debido a la construcción planificada de la ciudad en Old Everett High School, y habíamos solicitado actualizaciones durante más de un mes sobre cuándo podríamos trabajar para reubicar nuestras camas y equipos. No recibimos respuesta hasta que nos informaron el jueves que las camas serían desmontadas y desalojadas el viernes a las 9:30 a.m. Cuando nuestro equipo llegó a las 8:15 a. m. del viernes para salvar materiales, las camas ya habían sido desmontadas y el área estaba siendo aplanada.

Estamos profundamente desanimados, ya que esperábamos invitar a nuestra comunidad a ayudar a limpiar cuidadosamente la granja y honrar los últimos tres años de cultivo y distribución de productos frescos y asequibles de ese maravilloso espacio. We would like to take a moment to wish a happy holiday season to our community at large. We hope that during this time of celebration our community can get together with their loved ones and spend some quality time with them. We know some people are far from their relatives and it may be difficult to feel at home during this time but hope that ECG helps bridge that barrier and we make you feel welcomed in our community.

Even for those who may not celebrate the various festivities that take place in the winter months. We hope that you're able to rest and reflect on this past year. May this new year all your dreams turn into reality. We hope that it's a magnificent year for you!
