🌱 Yesterday, Everett Community Growers proudly kicked off MA 2025 Urban Agriculture Week with a Guided Sensory Walk at our Northern Strand Community Farm!

Led by our talented Farm Manager and Youth Crew, guests explored a variety of herbs and vegetables while discovering their rich historical and cultural significance.

It was an inspiring day of connection, learning, and sharing knowledge with our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the beauty and importance of urban agriculture! 💚

ECG is excited to announce its upcoming Free Farm Stand dates. Bi-Weekly on Tuesday’s starting tomorrow July 22nd we will be distributing a variety of locally grown produce from our Northern Strand Community Farm. Produce availability will vary week to week and is weather dependent. For the best variety please arrive early! Please stay tuned for our posts the day of the Farm Stand to know exactly what kind of produce to expect!

Next Wednesday (6/11) at 6PM, join .river.watershed , , and The Great Malden Outdoors for a conversation with Mardi Fuller ( ), a lifelong backcountry adventurer and the first known Black person to hike all 48 of New Hampshire’s high peaks in the winter.

Mardi’s mission is to support communities of color to self-determine in outdoor recreation and in the conservation movement. Join us to hear her discuss the societal forces that enable the persistent exclusion from full nature access that people of color face, as well as her personal experiences connecting with nature and navigating the mainstream outdoor culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who’s ready to turn vision into action, build strong, inclusive teams, and ensure community voices are at the center of everything we do. You’ll be a vital part of our journey — and will help support our amazing, ever-growing staff as we continue to grow and deepen our impact in Everett.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

✔️ 5+ years of experience in nonprofit or community program leadership
✔️ A deep commitment to racial, economic, and language justice
✔️ Experience with program design, staff supervision, and community engagement
✔️ Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole? That’s a big plus!

At ECG, Earth Day is more than a celebration—it’s a moment to reflect on how we live, connect, and care for the world around us. It calls us to reimagine our relationship with the Earth, not as something separate from us, but as something we’re deeply a part of. As we look toward building a more sustainable and just future, we ground ourselves in the truth that this path was first shaped by the care, wisdom, and stewardship of Indigenous peoples, whose relationship with the land laid the foundation for all of us. 🌎✨🌱

Spend outside — Volunteer with us to plant trees this week! 🌳

Volunteers will work in teams of 3-4 to plant bare root trees. Youth 13 and under are welcome to participate with a parent or guardian present. Youth 14+ can volunteer with a registration form filled out by a parent or guardian beforehand. All supplies will be provided.
