We are listening! This is our staff and I am Mary Kay, the Barn Manager (December 2021) . In the past 3 years, we have made many changes and improvements to our barn. We added social media, Instagram (2022) and Facebook(2023) as Evergreen Park Urban Barn. Now, we open our doors every day 11:00-4:30. Our mornings are spent with grooming, cleaning, working with our AERO partners, special education young adults who come with their coaches. Our Visitor Center (August, 2023) has stations to learn anything and everything agriculture. You are always welcome after 11:00, sometimes the big barn doors are closed- to help keep the staff warmer or cooler depending on the season but there is a people door that is unlocked and has a doorbell. The staff is always willing to walk and talk to you about the animals- or you are free to walk through by yourself. We don’t allow feeding the animals- otherwise they would look more like bowling balls than horses and goats. Proper animal care is very important to us- so we do not encourage any child/adult to put their hands near a horse’s mouth as they cannot see what their actually biting into 😂 We would like to welcome everyone- we can help you pet a hen, rooster, or one of our bunnies but the goats and horses have minds of their own. As for staying open past 5:00, we move with the sun, as do the animals. Hopefully this has cleared up some confusion about the barn. We could use more Valentines- like this one from our friend, Aaliyah, who visited with her grandma or like the colorful Valentines from our AERO workers. Stop by the barn to bring or make a Valentine and we will decorate the barn with them. We are open daily from 11:00-4:30❤️🩷🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🤎🩶🖤🤍💘

Our volunteers do so much more than give of their time- Maggie and Judy both give donations: a flat panel heater for our precious goats (who hate the cold 😂) enrichment boxes and snuffle mat for the bunnies, a life cycle set for our visitor classroom for the embryology and incubation project are just some of this year’s gifts. We are so grateful for their kindness and giving natures ❤️❤️❤️

lol 🤠 the bulls come out and we are too excited to take a picture😂 We took a little field trip with some of the barn staff, Abby and Bonnie and my daughters to a bull riding and women’s barrel racing competition last weekend. We had a great time- seeing bulls, cowboys, horses, and of course… cowgirls ❤️❤️❤️

We have such good staff at the barn- Abby was driving home an spotted a loose dog- an hour later, we were able to catch him and Osso, luckily, was reunited with his family. Good job Abby!
