Meet Tux, the brave tuxedo kitty who melted our hearts! 🖤🤍 Found as a stray, cold and covered in f***s, Tux was rescued and given the care he desperately needed.
At our hospital, we performed a Feline Triple Snap test—a quick and essential blood test that screens for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), and Heartworm Disease.

What are FeLV and FIV?

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a contagious virus that can suppress a cat’s immune system, making them more vulnerable to secondary infections, anemia, and certain cancers. FeLV is spread through close contact, such as grooming, sharing food or water bowls, or biting.

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is similar to HIV in humans, weakening the immune system over time and making it harder for a cat to fight off infections. FIV is primarily spread through bite wounds, so outdoor cats or those in cat fights are at higher risk.Testing for these viruses is critical for the health of both the affected cat and others they may come into contact with. Knowing their status helps us provide the right care and make informed decisions about their future.
