🐾 Hi there! I’m Rather, and I’m excited to share a little about myself! 🐾

I came into rescue as another black male mix—there are so many of us in shelters that we can get overlooked, so I was thrilled to join RROC. Life was going well until I had a rough experience meeting a new dog, which left me nervous around unknown dogs. Now, careful, slow introductions are key—but I’m perfectly happy as a solo dog. My foster family keeps walks safe from other dogs, and I love having a yard of my own to run and play.

Despite my past, everyone who knows me says I’m sweet, loving, and well-behaved. I love learning new commands and showing off my smarts. I’m worth a little effort to help me feel safe, and I’ll reward you with endless love! 💖

Please help me find my forever home by sharing my story with anyone looking for a loyal, loving companion. On behalf of all black male mixes everywhere—thank you! 🐶

Use the same word or phrase every time you give a command. This helps your pup connect the dots faster and reduces confusion.

👉 Example: Always say “Down” (not sometimes “Lay down” or “Get down”). Clear cues = quicker success!

This handsome 8-year-old Lab mix is proof that age is just a number! Grommet may be considered a senior, but he’s a spry boy with plenty of love, tail wags, and happy energy to share. 🐕✨
