Any ideas for young Labs? We've been asked to take four 10 month old chocolate Labs. I suspect they are mixes as they are only 33 to 40 pounds at 10 months old but they look like little Labs! The shelter is overflowing with great dogs. With no room, dogs who don't get adopted or moved to rescue and are slated to be put down. This is the story all over the country right now. Putting good dogs down solely for lack of room makes all of us sick, so if you have any ideas on finding spots for any of them, please let me know asap. If we can tag any to come to us, they'd arrive on 7/17.

"I started fostering around 15 years ago, when my son really wanted a puppy. We already had multiple dogs, so I discovered fostering. It became a great way to teach my son to give back and be responsible. We've since transitioned to fostering older dogs, and fostering with RROC has been amazing. They've accommodated my request for senior dogs, which works for my personal senior dog. While it's hard to say goodbye, knowing there's another dog waiting for a loving foster home makes it easier. I also love meeting the family my foster dog will be living with – it gives me so much closure." 🐾✨

Foster Friday; Every year around the 4th of July, animal shelters face a challenge as many pets get scared by fireworks and run away from home. This causes shelters to become overcrowded, and unfortunately, some animals already in the shelters have to be euthanized to make room for these lost pets.
An organization called RROC is working hard to help these animals and has provided a list of 10 ways people can help:
1. Secure all exit points in your home so your pets cannot escape.
2. Ensure your pets are properly medicated if necessary.
3. Make sure your pets are microchipped and wearing ID tags.
4. Use a Thundershirt or crate to provide comfort to your pets if needed.
5. Consider fostering a pet through a rescue organization, even if it's just temporary.
6. Volunteer at a shelter or rescue organization.
7. Donate to a shelter or rescue organization.
8. Try to locate the owner of a lost pet before taking it to a shelter.
9. Share this information to help educate others.
