Let's see how Devone did on our field trip to Bender Fields today!
Helo is a second class clinger and a first class awkward dog.
Things he's done in our remodel:
β€οΈ Laid off to the side out the way perfectly.
π€¦πΌββοΈ Licked sawdust off the floor
π€¦πΌββοΈ Investigated a little too close for comfort while I'm working the circular saw.
π€¦πΌββοΈ Stuck his face in this gap just to see what we're doing.
Good thing he's handsome and a good boy all around lol.
Say hello to my little friend!
Nugget is here for 8 weeks while we work him through his social anxiety, reactivity, territorial barking, the works!
Let's see how he progresses through his time here. π₯°
Do it tired.
Do it when you don't want to.
Do it for your dog, for yourself, for your family.
Whatever you're struggling with, use those moments to coach and teach your dog what you'd like them to do.
Busy with construction projects? ππΌββοΈ You can work your dog while you do it.
Busy with people coming and going? Leash up your dog and coach them through it.
Tired from a long day at work? Grab your jacket and boots and exercise your dog anyway.
Here's my new moto:
Determination
------------------------
Motivation
Are you determined to help your dog through it all? Forget about motivation, be determined to work anyway. Anything in life worth having (a well behaved dog for example) is worth working hard for.
Need help with recall?? This might help!
Oh Kalibr...π€¦πΌββοΈπ€£
Always keeping those crazy dogs in line one way or another lol. β€οΈ
Happy holidays! You ready for a little push back from your dog? Dogs love routines. It keeps everything predictable. But with holiday parties, kids coming back from school, routines tend to get a little bit upset which means your dog can as well. There are many times in January when I hear from clients how crazy their dog has been over the holiday season. I wonder why? π
But how do you fix it? Structure. Structure. STRUCTURE!
Just because it is the holiday season does not mean your dog should be allowed to get away with anything. Be firm, keep those boundaries that you have set in place, and your dog will be just fine. You might have only a day or two of pushback before they realize that this is the new semi routine, but if there's no structure in place you might have a couple weeks of solid pushback craziness. And nobody wants that!
And once you get that holiday routine stuff down.... You get to send the kids back to school which will upset the dog's new routine.. Yay.... π
Which means more structure when the kids go back to school!
Anytime your routine has been thrown off, you can expect it to show up in different behaviors with your dog. So be prepared! Know how to stay on top of it and you will be just fine.
*** Special note for those dogs who are literally slaves to their routine***
I highly recommend that you alter their routine slightly. Almost everyday. Routine is great! Too much routine can make life incredibly challenging to the point where you are now a slave to your dog's routine. It's okay to shift things around a little bit. It's okay to feed the dog breakfast anywhere from 5:00 to 7:00. And dinner can come anywhere from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Be sure to switch it up a little bit so your dog learns to roll with whatever happens each day.
Can't get a decent cover photo to save my life π

What kind of conversations should you be having with your dog?
Listen up, it's important!
Anxiety through the roof.... Yet after a week here Devon has figured out that dogs aren't that bad, they can actually be really great friends! β€οΈ
He's been pack walking with me and my dogs since day 1 but I haven't let them sniff or initiate play until today. Devon needed some time to figure out the ropes, get comfortable with me and my directions, and he needed to know that I was in control of my dogs.
So when Helo came up this afternoon and initiated some play bows with him and he was excited to join I said Ok! And they did great! I kept the leash on Devon because I know that Helo has an off switch from playing but Devon does not... Yet. They needed a couple breaks from excitement getting too high, we brought them back down to a nice walk, then back to playing, then back down to a nice walk and some decompression to finish.
Great work today buddy!
Stay warm this season! I have all things heated since I'm outside a lot in all weather types, sunshine β€οΈ, rain π, and yes, the freezing temperatures π₯΄.
So I have heated vests, I have fleece lined pants, I have a heated jacket, and I even have heated insoles which are GAME CHANGERS. ππΌ

They still have sales going in so hurry while you can!
Oh hey Devon! ππΌββοΈβ€οΈ
Devon is a ... Give me your best guess bc I have no idea ...
He's been dealing with some anxiety around other dogs and different situations which is making it hard for him to truly settle down and follow direction.
He's also the goofiest guy ever who just loves to run and snuggle lol.
Stay tuned for his updates over the next 6 weeks! β€οΈ
Kalibr did it again...
As if repairing both knees (TPLO's), picking thorns out of him when he thought he should dive through rose bushes, repairing torn off pads, and so much more wasn't enough... He had to go and partially tear his calcaneal tendon (Achilles basically for dogs).
πππππππ
Y'all I'm getting a lazy dog next.
