Introducing Gibbs & Grissom šŗā¤ļø
They came in about a week ago to the county shelter with their mama, who is a rather unfriendly female. Their plan had been to get the babies weaned, tmama gets TNRād & babies go to foster for socialization then adoption.
Unfortunately, the shelter stated that at some point yesterday evening/overnight, mama decided she no longer wanted to take care of Grissom. This morning she visibly shunned him, moved away & wasnāt allowing him to nurse. Heās got a raspy meow & some pretty crackly lungs, so itās most likely weāre dealing with pneumonia unfortunately. Gibbs is a little crackly, but nothing overtly concerning. Obviously at this point it wasnāt safe to leave Grissom with Mum, & she was showing signs of starting to shun Gibbs also.
So here we are! Both of these boys are very small for their age, & I can feel their bones easily. Grissom was exceptionally lethargic upon intake & they were both cold. They had also checked Grissom for ringworm using a woodslamp due to some crusties on his ear & back foot- however, having had him home for the afternoon it actually appears that theyāre healing wounds. A portion of his ear has already come off, which is actually good as the wound is healing great underneath (!), & after cleaning him up a little thereās a wound on the foot too under the scabs.
Iām hopeful that with some steady baking in the incubator, getting the right meds on board, these boys will be rocking and rolling in no time š
These two put me at well past a full house, & lots of mouths to feed. If you are able & would like to help with the care these guys so desperately need it would be so very appreciated. Between good, vetting, & a few expensive surgeries coming up, our funds are getting pretty low. You can visit https://linktr.ee/centralflfosters to find our donation links, Amazon/Chewy/Revival Health wishlists & more. I couldnāt help as many kittens as I do, without the support of you all, & it is so very appreciated ā¤ļø
