Okrah enjoyed soaking up the last nice fall days with her foster dad! She’s ready to find her forever home after spending much needed time in a foster home with a little extra TLC. If you remember her story, Okrah was found as a stray running with another dog (Glo) and it took several days before she could be captured. She started off in our care fearful, nervous and lacking confidence. She was emaciated with terrible skin, over bred and discarded like trash. She is a completely different dog now with confidence, energy and spunk! There is both love and hope in her eyes and she greets everyone with an open heart. She is about 6 years old and would love a relaxed home where she can hangout on the couch (or your lap) and go on leisurely adventures. She is crate trained, house broken and has many good years ahead of her. If interested in adopting Okrah please apply here! —> www.easelnj.org/application-dog/
This #tongueouttuesday we are featuring Betty with the hopes of finding her a foster family so she can enjoy the comforts of a home instead of living at the shelter. She has been in our care for 6 weeks and during that time has only been shown love and affection but it’s not the same as an actual home. Betty came to us as a stray, emaciated and confused. Two days after her arrival she suffered a Grand Mal seizure and we did not know if she was going to be able to recover due to the severity of it. Resilience in Betty won and she has been thriving on anti-seizure medication (twice daily) and steroids (once daily). She has been seizure free since starting her medication and has gained weight, regained energy and is quite the happy dog. She very happily takes her medication in hot dogs and throughly enjoys going for casual walks. She has met other dogs and existed well with them. She is a very sweet girl who deserves to be pampered in her Golden Years. We understand expecting someone to adopt her knowing her medical issues may be difficult, and we don’t know what sort of timeline she has so we are on the lookout for a foster home who can at least provide love and comfort for her. If interested in helping Betty or fostering any of the other dogs at the shelter please apply here —> www.easelnj.org/application-dog/
