Meet Baby! 🐴
This sweet little lady just joined us today. Baby is an 8-year-old Quarter Horse/Mustang cross. She’s not halter broke yet, but she’s incredibly friendly and curious!

We’ll be getting her started with basic training, updated on all her shots, and making sure her teeth are taken care of before she’s ready to find her forever home. ❤️

I was recently talking with someone about how hard it can be to break into the horse world—especially if you didn’t grow up in a horse-owning family. Between lessons, boarding, vet bills, and show fees, it’s not always accessible for the average person.Someone also mentioned how video games have replaced a lot of extracurriculars these days. It’s cheaper, keeps kids inside, and there’s less risk of injury.That’s why we work so hard to make horses accessible to people who want that hands-on experience.Take Avery, for example. She and her mom started coming here to learn, volunteer, and absorb everything they could about horses. And now? Avery adopted a mustang from us—one she and her mom helped train nearly from scratch.We’re so proud of them.Curious to hear your thoughts: Do you think access to horses should be easier for people outside the traditional horse world?

Meet Ferdinand—the kitten who may have come from the ghetto, abandoned and left outside to fend for himself… but make no mistake, this boy has taken a real liking to the finer things in life. 🛋🍤

Since I’ve had no interest in him, I was going to slowly integrate him into the porch cat crew… but Ferdinand said absolutely not. He hates it. He’s terrified of other uncultured cats, wants nothing to do with barn life, and has made it very clear that he is indoor-only royalty from here on out.

Ferdinand prefers lap time over playtime, shrimp over kibble, and cuddles over chaos. If you’re looking for a low-key, high-maintenance little prince who just wants to be loved (and fed peeled shrimp like royalty), Ferdinand is your guy.

No barns. No drama. Just shrimp, snuggles, and a warm lap.

Sweet Avery is still looking for her forever home through the Humane Society of Ray County! This fluffy 10-week-old Great Pyrenees mix is as gentle as she is adorable.

She’s currently working on her kennel and potty training—smart and eager to learn! Avery will make a loyal and loving companion for a family ready to help her grow into the incredible dog she’s meant to be.

Meet Rosie – The Sweet Old Lady Looking for a Soft Landing

Rosie is heading back to Steel City Animal Haven and will be available for adoption or foster! This mid-20s broodmare has spent her life bringing foals into the world and now just wants a quiet, loving place to land.

She’s been through a few foster homes and is often used as a companion horse. While she’s a little picky about who she warms up to, a pocket full of treats will usually win her over pretty fast. Rosie did have a few teeth pulled, so she requires a bit of mash to keep her happy and healthy.

She may not have formal training, but she’s been ridden and is truly the slowest horse you’ll ever meet—making her a solid candidate for a lead-line horse for kids.

If you’re looking for a chill companion with a big heart (and an even bigger appetite), Rosie might be your girl.

We’ve had no interest in Red yet and he’s such a good boy!

Red is neutered, UTD on shots, and friendly! He is about 10 months old, potty trained, good with other animals, knows commands such sit, laydown, and shake, and full of energy. Red is a lab, red heeler, Aussie mix. If you are interested in Red, let me know and I’ll send you an adoption application. 💜
His adoption fee is $100
