WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOME SUPER BUFF* VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH A PROJECT IN KINGSTON THIS WEEK - please read to the end for more information!
Meet our new friend Bugs!
Buggy was a city community cat until he was about 1 year old. He was going to be TNR’d, but it was the dead of winter and he was pretty poorly himself at the time with a broken jaw. Bugs’ family nursed him back to health and he decided he liked the cushy indoor life.
He was very loved by his family for 11 years (and still is!), but within a few short months they experienced the loss of one of Bugs’ parents, escalating health issues for his other parent, and an emergency housing crisis outside of their control. They made the difficult choice to surrender Bugs so that he wouldn’t have to experience so much uncertainty in his senior years.
Bugs has never been a particularly handleable cat so he needed a big spa day at the vet to catch up on the last few years. Buggy had a dental to remove his last 4 teeth, full senior labwork, jaw X-rays, and he needed an extensive pedicure for some very infected toenails. Thankfully he is feeling so much better! He hates his sunflower cone, but I think he looks quite handsome. If you leave him a compliment I will read them all to him and maybe he’ll decide his sunflower is a good look too 🙂↕️
Buggy will be part of our Old Cats Club here - even though his labs are pretty great for an old man, being mostly blind, semi-feral, and having substantial jaw misalignment means he will need some additional care. I’m hopeful that as he relaxes more, he and I will develop something that resembles friendship.

❗️BUFF PEOPLE❗️
OR NON-BUFF PEOPLE WHO CAN COMPENSATE WITH ENTHUSIASM AND DETERMINATION!
The home Buggy came from has a bedbug infestation (yes, that’s where his name came from - we were referring to him as “the bedbug cat” for the first day which is pretty close to his original name, so it has since stuck 😅)
Community Action Partnership Hillsborough and Rockingham Counties needs help clearing out the house in Kingston, NH this week - i.e. throwing a lot of furniture and such into a dumpster.
If you can help BEFORE MONDAY 8/17, email Stephanie ([email protected]) or call (603-668-8010 ext: 6302) for more information!
