Want to know the #1 complaint we receive? It’s that we have a policy against adopting out single kittens!

People are asking us for single kittens ALL THE TIME because they only want one cat, or their living situation only allows one. Interestingly enough, the hardest cats to find homes for are the ones who can’t live with others 🤷🏻‍♀️
Single-cat homes are a rarity, so it always breaks our hearts to see a cat who would thrive in that environment being overlooked just because they’re no longer a kitten.

We currently have two cats who don’t want to share the spotlight with any other cats in their home!

LIABILITY is a handsome young adult orange male. He is extremely social and outgoing, and he loves to be pet. Liability will chat with you and give you affectionate headbutts. His favorite things are spring toys and dinner 🍽️

PIXIE the pretty female tuxie will be turning 10 years old next month, though she still runs and plays like a young lady! She has been waiting for a home for 554 days. Pixie is a confident girl who has never met a stranger and she’s always interested in people coming to meet the other cats (maybe she’s wondering why it’s never her turn?) Pixie doesn’t love to be pet but she enjoys spending time socializing near her people, and she especially loves kicking all of her toys around!

🐱 Both cats must be the only cat in their homes
🐶 Liability could likely live with dogs, Pixie would probably prefer a home without dogs but may do fine if she has space to herself
👶🏻 Liability would likely do well with kids 8+, Pixie can only live with teens+

DODO IS HOME! 🦤🖤

Our sweet boy did well in surgery and has returned missing one toe. His poor little nakey foot looks a bit sad right now but I’m sure Dodo is already feeling some relief!

The total for his emergency toe amputation came to $1,600 and we have raised just under half of that. I’m so thankful for yalls continued generosity and good thoughts for Dodo, hopefully this is the last hiccup in his recovery 🖤

DODO UPDATE 🦤🖤

It’s GIVING TUESDAY and Dodo is having surgery right this very moment!

If you missed our last update, Dodo is doing great with his FIP treatment but he had a horrible accident that mangled his foot pretty badly.
Today he’s having a toe “amputation,” which is in quotes because quite honestly he broke the toes pretty clean off on his own and the loose bone just needs to be removed - how’s that for a fun visual?! 😵‍💫

The estimate for his surgery today is $1,700.

On top of the cost of his FIP medication, his bill is over $3,000. I know it’s a lot to ask especially where everyone has already been so generous, but Dodo is just the sweetest little man and so deserves to be happy and healthy! And what better day for this than Giving Tuesday? 🖤

It’s Black FURiday which means we have some amazing deals on our limited edition Scaredy Pairs models 😱🐈‍⬛

SUNDAE & SPEEDEE are a 1-2 year old brother/sister pair. They came from a hoarding situation where they were used to people being nearby, but not making direct contact with them. Both have made great progress and allow petting in the right conditions, though the way to their hearts is through playtime and snacks. We anticipate that once they settle into a home, they will be very sweet, goofy companions.

SPARK PLUG & STATIC are an 8 month old brother/sister pair who were rescued from a shed at just 8 weeks old. Spark Plug has grown into a curious young lady who is one of the first of her litter to come greet you. She’s even open to being pet with the help of a Churu treat bribe! Static is much more nervous and relies on his sister for support. He is more of a “spirit cat” who you may see skitter around the house, but he does not enjoy spending a lot of time with his people.

Both pairs are great with other cats.
Static & Spark Plug are great with dogs.
Both pairs would prefer living without children or with teens and up.

Both pairs have discounted adoption fees!

DODO UPDATE 🦤🖤

The difference that even just a few days of FIP treatment can make never ceases to amaze me. Our little Dodo bird went from an energetic, healthy cat to completely unresponsive seemingly overnight, and with this medication he just as quickly started returning to his normal self!
He is now on day 16 of the 84 total doses he will receive, and I’m thrilled to report that he’s basically back to his kooky, playful self. And the best part - he can SEE! His eyes will likely always have a bit of a deficit, but the fact that his vision returned at all is a miracle.

Overall, he’s feeling much much better. Which is a blessing and a curse because he was feeling SO good that he partied too hard and broke three toes 🙃

I ran a quick errand yesterday afternoon and came back to him with his toe pinched in the upper bars of his neighbor’s kennel.
If you’ve ever watched an animal get stuck on something you know what happens next… they panic and fling themselves all around. And that’s exactly what Dodo did! I’ll be haunted by that visual for a while, but I’m very glad that his injuries weren’t any worse.

The worst part of this update is that we now have to do toe surgery on Dodo to amputate his mangled lil beans. It’s a little risky given his FIP status, but it has to happen for his lifelong comfort.
That’s planned for next Tuesday while we get him started on some antibiotics in advance, and he’s on some good pain meds to keep him comfortable. He’s currently rocking the cutest little swollen mitten foot 😭

Twinkletoes, now Penny, found her forever home! She came to us as part of a group of barn cats to be TNR’d, but she was just too sweet. She’s now living the spoiled life with her new (also thumbed!) brother, Lenny. Happy tails ❤️

After a scary and confusing few months with Duffy and his mysteriously degenerating knee, he was finally cleared for adoption and found his forever family 💛
He’s living the spoiled life now with his parents and his kitty sister Zoey. Happy life little man!

⚠️WARNING: UPSETTING VIDEO‼️

I can’t thank yall enough for how you rallied for our little Dodo bird 🖤
We were able to get an emergency holdover supply of the FIP medication last night and get him started! Today he is noticeably improved and finally ate a meal, but we definitely still have a long way to go.

Dodo has neurological/ocular FIP which is harder to treat than other forms because of its fast progression and severe symptoms. He will have 84 days of high-dose injections followed by 84 days of monitoring to make sure he doesn’t relapse. I’m hopeful that he’ll respond well, but we’ll know more in the coming days.

As you can probably tell from the videos, Dodo is completely blind. He is also pretty uncoordinated/wobbly. His vision may or may not come back though we won’t know that for a while either, and his stability should improve. For now he is a bit of a helpless little baby and needs a lot of help in the hygiene department, but I can tell he’s in there fighting!

Thanks to everyone’s generosity we’ve reached our $2,000 goal to cover Dodo’s treatment 🖤

Margot has come a long way since we rescued her in January!
She spent 8 years of her life curled up in the dirt or on a drain cover, but after some TLC she was adopted and is now living her best life. She was such a local celebrity that she was even featured in our town newsletter!

Thank you to Margot’s parents for adopting a senior kitty and giving her the best retirement EVER, and to our friends at the Brentwood Newsletter for sharing her story 💖

FIP can take a perfectly healthy, young cat (who is too happy and energetic to even sit still for his adoption profile photos!) and turn him into a shell of his former self in just two weeks.

This is so not how I wanted to introduce yall to Dodo! Dodo was such a little wild child who loved to chat and be pet, until a few days ago when he started to feel under the weather.
What we initially suspected to be a mild kitty cold progressed rapidly and it soon became clear that it was actually the worst possible scenario: FIP.

FIP is a mutation of the feline coronavirus (different from human COVID) and up until a few years ago it was considered 100% fatal.
Now there are treatments available, but they are extremely expensive. We’ve had a few FIP kitties survive and thrive with this treatment, and we think Dodo deserves a chance to live too.

We DESPERATELY need donations to save Dodo. This medication will need to be ordered today and overnighted so we don’t risk him declining any further.

‼️We need to raise $2,000 ASAP for Dodo‼️
