Pretty sure this one is NOT a cat!
This pup had been roaming around the base of Mt Agamenticus for at least 5 days with no owner to be found. The poor guy was terrified; bolting from any people who saw him and darting back and forth across a busy road.
Even though it’s not my usual wheelhouse, trapping is trapping right?
Our friend (who we now know is named Rocky) was skeptical at first but ultimately couldn’t resist the steak bait. We brought him straight to the ER and thankfully, aside from lots of ticks and mild heat exhaustion, he appears to be in good shape.
This morning we brought Rocky to a shelter that can accommodate dogs where he will be able to recover from his big adventure. He was a great copilot and I wish him the best of luck in his journey going forward 🩷
A big thanks to Maine Lost Dog Recovery,
Maine Veterinary Medical Center, and all others involved with getting this cutie to safety!
Rocky’s short visit here did leave us with a vet bill of about $200. If you’re interested in donating towards the bill, please use the button on this post or visit our website:

Rocky is a young neutered male husky mix. He is microchipped but contact efforts have been unsuccessful.
