I often ask other judges, “Would you give 1st in the Hound Group to a Whippet with its tail laying on its back? Would you give 1st in the Non-Sporting Group to a Dalmatian with its tail laying on its back? Or would you give 1st in the Herding Group to a German Shepherd with its tail laying on its back?” Then why, why, why are Chinese Cresteds with their tails laying on their backs not only winning Groups, but also Best in Shows?🐾

The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning new puppies or dogs into their new home and helping them settle in. The first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.

If you expect an 8-12 week old puppy to be settled right away DONT get a puppy.

We have "offishally" decided to retain Cuttle. She was our favorite early on and my son can't bear to let her go. We've never let him keep a puppy.
