In November we celebrate Adopt a Senior Pet Month, which reminds people of older cats and dogs that are in shelters and waiting to be adopted. Pets are the easiest way to bring warmth into your life. So if you are thinking about getting a pet, consider opening your heart to a senior animal. Not only are older pets often easier to handle, but they are at least just as loyal and loving as the younger ones.

You can also celebrate Adopt a Senior Pet Month by volunteering at a local animal shelter or fostering a senior pet to help socialize them for their future home. ❤🐾🐕🐈

October is National Pet Wellness Month! ❤️🐾🐈🦮🐇

Every October, the American Veterinary Medical Association recognizes October as National Pet Wellness Month to promote the health and wellness of pets.

Here are some ways to celebrate:

Schedule a vet visit! Routine vet visits are important for your pet's health. They can help catch potential issues early and ensure your pet receives vaccinations and preventive medications.

Spend time with your pet. Go for a walk, explore new places, or teach your pet a new trick.

Make your pet a special meal. You can treat your pet to a surprise can of tuna, homemade treats, or a new kibble.

Adopt a pet! Adopting a pet from a shelter gives an animal a second chance and helps prevent shelter overcrowding.

Today is Check the Chip Day, an important day for Pet Parents and their fur babies. Microchips greatly increase the chances that pets will be reunited with their families if they are lost or stolen. Dr. Dee, A Vet For Everywhere reminds Pet Parents to have your pets microchipped and to keep the registration information up-to-date. ❤️🐾

1. If your pet isn’t already microchipped, make an appointment with your veterinarian for microchipping.

2. Ask your veterinarian to scan the microchip during your pet's annual wellness exam every year.

3. Each year on Check the Chip Day, check your pet's microchip registration information and update it if it's incomplete or no longer correct.
