We are a small hobby breeder of pedigreed hedgehogs located in Fairbanks, Alaska (known as The Goldenheart City). Soon to be USDA licensed.

Our goal is to provide adorable, well-socialized hedgehogs and hedgehog education for the community.

I would like to announce that due to newer circumstances, and not having the time or space at my new place, I’ve decided to stop breeding. I’ve rehomed all of my current herd except my little Remi. I would highly recommend Hedge of Alaska- Hedgehog Breeder breeder in Kenny Lake area.

Meet Oakley! He is looking for his new home! He’s 2.5 years old and is a sweet little guy! He’s on the shyer side but warms up quickly. He absolutely LOVES superpowers, enjoy his little munches! Everyone meet Forrest AKA Neville. Due to no fault of his own he is back with us and searching for a new home! He is a super sweet shy little guy who is 2 years young. He is looking for a nice understanding home to settle down in. He comes with his own Carolina Storm wheel, custom fleece cage liners, food and a few other goodies of his own. We want nothing more than for him to find his forever home and would love to go over your application with you!

**Attention Fairbanks, Ak hedgehog potential/current owners**
Currently there are only 3 types of small animals exercise wheels available to purchase in town. They are ALL dangerous for hedgehogs. Wheels currently available are the Kaytee Silent Spinner, Wire Wheels and Saucer Wheels. These wheels can cause injuries to hedgehogs and are NOT recommended. Reasons for why this is is listed next to the pictures of them in the Dangerous Wheels picture. If you have one for your hedgehog please discard of it immediately. It is better that your hedgehog go without a wheel temporarily while a safe one is shipped then for them to continue using a dangerous wheel and risk injury. Wheels we DO recommend are included in the first picture. All current Goldenheart Hedgehogs have either a Henry’s Hedgehog Haven Bucket wheel or a Carolina Storm Bucket Wheel. These are both available on Etsy and will ship to Fairbanks. The Henrys wheels are $25 with shipping being around $13 for each wheel. They are almost absolutely silent and hedgehogs LOVE them. Please give time for your wheel to ship before you consider getting a hedgehog. Other places to buy a wheel include Amazon and several other online sites.

Fern and Ziggys litter should be due anytime this week! She did great for her ultrasound! At least 2 but it’s very hard to get a count from ultrasounds since babies are usually all on top of each other and hedgies don’t always stay completely still.

Here is our updated 2022 kibble mix. Having a mix of several good quality foods is important. We recommend feeding a cat food with protein between 30-35% and fat between 10-15%. This is also depending on the hedgehogs weight and intake requirements. We also give insects, salmon oil, unseasoned meat and food toppers for added variety in their diets and depending upon special needs to certain hedgehogs. **We do not recommend any diet on the market claiming to be specifically for hedgehogs besides Hedgehog Precision**
