Get ready for a hot dog of a time! 🐕 One month until MMAH's Annual Dachshund Dash!

Mt. McKinley Animal Hospital will be hosting our annual dachshund race at the Tanana Valley State Fair on Saturday, July 26th at 4 pm.
The race is located in the grassy area by the livestock barns. Sign-ups/registration can be done at the Fairgrounds right before the race.
Arrive between 15-30 mins prior to the race, as it is often busy. This race is limited to dachshunds and dachshund mixes due to their leg size.

Each race participant requires 2 handlers - 1 at each end of the course. There will be multiple race heats depending on the number of participants. Dogs will start at one end (5 racers to a group) and can be lured to the handler at the other end by any means (toys, food, noise makers, etc.).
This is a wonderfully fun and entertaining event that we hold each year at the Tanana Valley State Fair.
This event is open to ALL friendly dachshunds in the community.
The entry fee is a donation towards our Paisley Paws Fund. We are asking a minimum donation of $5 per dog but would accept a donation of any amount. Have you heard of our Paisley Paws fund? This is a non profit fund that assists owners with veterinary care in times of emergency so they can avoid euthanasia or rehoming their pets. Please check out the fund on our website: www.mmahak.com or at www.paisleypaws.org. Donations made directly through our site can be tax deductible.
We will have prizes for the first 25 entries/participants (one per family so we have lots to go around) and a grand prize for the fastest dachshund!

Founded in 1971, Mt. McKinley Animal Hospital is committed to providing the very best veterinary care possible. Our eight veterinarians combine their expertise with state-of-the-art technology in our modern hospital to deliver veterinary medical care to the wonderful pets in Fairbanks. All of the staff at Mt. McKinley Animal Hospital understands the special bond between pets and their families, and strive to fulfill the needs of each client and each patient. Working together with our clients, we keep healthy pets healthy and help sick pets get better!

Mt. McKinley Animal Hospital was accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) in 1976. AAHA accreditation means that our hospital has voluntarily undergone close scrutiny to prove that we operate by the highest standards and provide the highest level of care possible. We have proven excellence in five areas as outlined by AAHA: quality of care, diagnostics and pharmacy, management, medical records and facility. We enjoy the challenge of reaching the benchmarks posed by AAHA, which ensures that we are up-to-date on changes in veterinary medicine.
