Due to an increasing number of last minute cancellations we have to enforce a cancellation fee. We’re currently booked out 2-3 weeks in advance and last minute cancellations don’t allow us to offer the spot to others in a timely manner. We understand that emergencies happen and last minute things come up, but multiple last minute cancellations will now result in a $30 cancellation fee. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Our busy schedule delayed our post, but we couldn't wait to share our exciting experience volunteering with the Girl Scouts at Noble Paws/The Goat Project Sled Dog Kennel for a day of mushing. All the way from meeting the adorable sled dog pups, to learning all about the sled and amazing dogs that run them, to taking a ride like a pro. These ladies were amazing and run an awesome organization. Check them out and support their cause!

This morning we had to say goodbye to our oldest, sweet and spunky till the end - Gabby. Rachel rescued her as a puppy from a dumpster over 16 years ago. They gave each other so much love and enjoyed many adventures together. Rest easy, girl. We love you. ❤️🌈

We are hiring a full time nail trim team. This includes 2 positions, a nail trimmer and restrainer. Please read each job description below to see if you or anyone you know qualifies and would like to join our team.

Happy Paws is a locally owned and operated mobile nail trimming company. We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Mobile Nail Trimming Specialist to join our team. Compensation is based on experience, is hourly plus tips and mileage compensation.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience trimming nails of dogs and cats or working as a pet groomer in a professional setting (experience with your own pets excluded), experience with a**l gland expression, foot, pad and sanitary trims preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Must be willing to sign a non-compete agreement.
The ability to trim dog and cat nails using hand-held pet nail trimmers and dremel tools is required. Familiarity with using styptic powder to stop bleeding when the quick is hit is required, but should rarely be needed due to experience and skill level.
Experience handling and reading body language of difficult pets, cats and large dogs preferred.
The candidate should also have a high level of customer service and professionalism and work well on their own and with an animal restraining partner when needed.
This is a very physically demanding job that requires handling and interaction with pets of all sizes, temperaments, and ages.
Candidates must have a reliable vehicle, as nail trims are performed in clients homes with owners holding them or utilizing a doorway restraining device, and therefore candidates must be comfortable entering and working in the clients homes for approximately 10-15 minutes per stop.

Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Be able to lift >50lbs
Comfortable around any breed of dog, cat or small animal
Can tolerate standing for long periods, kneeling or squatting repeatedly

Additional skills required:
Organizational and multitasking skills
Comfortable with technology, including Google calendar and maps

Great attention to detail
Takes direction well
Comfortable working alone with pets and their owners

Self motivated
Ability to manage time without assistance
Maintain positive and calm demeanor in any situation
Willingness to learn and grow skills
Ability to communicate with clients and coworkers professionally
Punctuality and good attendance is a must!

PET NAIL TRIM ASSISTANT/RESTRAINER
Locally owned and operated small business now hiring for a Pet Nail Trim Assistant! This is a rewarding position for the right candidate possessing demonstrable experience with dogs and cats. Hard working and driven individuals who are unafraid of getting dirty and who like active work are encouraged to apply!

Job Duties:

-Travel with and share driving responsibilities with Nail Trimmer to client’s homes

-Restrain dogs and cats (primarily but not exclusively) while nails are trimmed

-Restrain dogs during a**l gland expression, and miscellaneous other grooming tasks

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
-Experience handling difficult, aggressive, and scared animals, including but not limited to cats and dogs of all sizes

-Ability to repeatedly kneel, hold and lift more than 50lbs, and safely restrain pets to protect both the Nail Trimmer and yourself, while maintaining the safety of the animal

-Confidence and ability to read animal body language is key

-Must be a team player, willing to work closely with nail trimmer, and take guidance and constructive criticism

-Strong skills in clear, quick, and effective communication and customer service

-Punctuality, reliability, and ability to remain calm and professional in any situation are a must

-Must have valid driver’s license, High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and be 18 years of age or older

-Minimum 1 year experience working with animals is required

Pay is dependent on experience, and is hourly plus tips and milage when you drive. Background check and working interview are required. Signing a non-compete document is required upon hiring. Please submit a resume and references.

-Last on my list are shower caddy's, these are important for a youth's stay but between each stay, some go missing or get broken.

This holiday season, Happy Paws and Tailor Made Performance are teaming up to help The Door - Emergency Youth Shelter with their wish list, and we need your help!
Whether your donation is cash, a wish list item, or simply getting the word out - every little bit helps! As a contribution for each dollar donated, Happy Paws will match cumulative total donations up to $500. Additionally, 100% of the proceeds of all gourmet dog cookies sold in the month of December will be donated to Fairbanks Youth Advocates.
Tailor Made Performance will be donating a percentage of all personal training sales during the month of December, up to $500.
