Any content maintained in a social media format that is related to FNSB business, including a list of subscribers and posted communication, is a public record. GENERAL INFORMATION
Users and visitors to social media sites shall be notified that the intended purpose of the site is to serve as a mechanism for communication between FNSB departments and members of the public. To the extent prohibited by APOC, comments in support or opposition to political campaigns or ballot measures or other political actions;

C. Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of age, race, religion, sex, ethnicity, nationality, disability, or other protected class, status or characteristic;

Pepper (A139445) is a 6-month-old DSH who weighed 6.56 pounds on intake!

08/28/25 This spunky girl is Pepper! Pepper arrived at the shelter as a stray but was surrendered to the shelter because she kept escaping outdoors and getting herself into trouble. A friendly reminder that the leash law does apply to cats. She may enjoy a nice catio to enjoy the outdoors safely! Pepper was stated to be litterbox trained and has used it at the shelter. She was said to previously done well with people of all ages including babies and children! She also has previously gotten along with other cats and dogs. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions to help set her up for success! Pepper does have a playful attitude and would enjoy having plenty of enrichment (toys/towers/scratters) in her future! If you are interested in meeting this playful kitten, please let us know!

08/30/25 This adorable bundle of puppies were born right here in the intake room at the shelter! They spent the first 2 months of their lives with one of our wonderful fosters and are now ready to find their furever homes! Puppies can be a lot of work, so make sure you are prepared for the time and energy it will take with their training! Enrolling your pup in a puppy class with a certified trainer would be a great place to start!

From the foster:

Cherry is a gentle soul and sweet as can be. She is also high energy and always moving when not asleep. She can be quite vocal when she wants something, and enjoys constant companionship.

Little Rocket is the most mellow of this trio. He enjoys cuddling on the couch just as much as he loves to play, and really seems to like other animals.

Sparkle has a VERY large personality. Sassy and energetic, she is always on the go. She always wants to be with her people, so she would likely make a good adventure buddy. She is very vocal and mouthy, as some puppies are, and can be rather rough when playing despite her size, so early obedience training is a must.

Mila (A139420) is a 1-year-and-6-month-old DSH who weighed 5.56 pounds on intake!

08/28/25 This stunning mama cat is Mila! Mila arrived at the shelter as a stray with her two sons, Mo and Marv. Now all three are looking for their new places to call home! At the shelter, they have all used the litterbox fantastically and have had healthy appetites (canned kitten food is a fave)! These three play hard and nap hard! They have also been found grooming and cuddling each other! At the shelter, they have been as sweet as can be and are eager to find their new families to love! We do not know if they have experience around other animals or children. Making appropriate introductions is key to helping set them up for success! Diamond (A139391) is a 5-year-old Lab mix who weighed 65 pounds on intake!

08/27/25 This happy girl is Diamond! Diamond arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her new place to call home! Since she was brought in as a stray, we do not have any behavioral information on how she was in a home setting. Ensuring you are always making appropriate introductions with new people and other animals is important to help set her up for success! We also encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and to learn a trick or two! At the shelter, she has kept her kennel clean, indicating that she may be housebroken. Keep in mind that there is always an adjustment period as she gets settled into her new home and routine. One observation that staff has made is that she loves to bark at the community bus when it drives by but not so much other vehicles. In general, she tends to be relatively quiet in her kennel. Diamond should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised when in a fenced in yard so that she doesn’t find herself a lost wanderer again. Hope (A139455) is a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees who weighed 74.9 pounds on intake!

08/28/25 This sweet but shy gal is Hope! Hope was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of her own. She is used to spending most of her time outdoors but was also said to be housebroken. Keep in mind she may need a few reminders as she settles into her new routine. Hope has also not been overly confident walking on a leash while at the shelter and is looking for a patient owner to help her continue building that confidence. Her surrendering owner did note that she rides well in a car. We do not know if she has experience with children or with other animals. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new people and pets! If you are unfamiliar with livestock guardian breeds, we encourage you to do your research before adopting. If you are interested in meeting Hope, please let us know!

Kaza (A139474) is a 9-month-old Lab mix who weighed 88.4 pounds on intake!

08/28/25 This handsome boy is Kaza! Kaza was surrendered to the shelter because he played a bit too roughly with the other dog in the home. He was said to be friendly with dogs but he has a rough play style, which is not always appreciated. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new animals. While at the shelter, we have noticed that Kaza can be very shy around new people and new situations. He is looking for a patient home that will work with him to show him the world is not such a scary place. Kaza was said to be kennel-trained and housebroken (will whine at the door) but lacks some basic manners. We encourage his next owner to bring him to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on those skills. Kaza was also known to dig and chew. Providing him with appropriate outlets for his energy is important to keeping him healthy, happy, and enriched. If you are interested in meeting Kaza, please let us know!

Indy (A139475) is a 4-year-old AK Husky who weighed 33 pounds on intake!

08/28/25 This pretty girl is Indy! Indy was surrendered to the shelter because her owner could no longer house her. She was described as being a friendly girl who has previously done well with babies and children! It was noted that Indy can be quite the escape artist, so she should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised when in a fenced-in yard. Her surrendering owner stated that she is not trained and we encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners. She is a very quick and agile girl and may even enjoy an agility class! Indy was said to be used to spending time in a kennel, but is not housebroken. Getting her on a routine will help her!
