Users and visitors to social media sites shall be notified that the intended purpose of the site is to serve as a mechanism for communication between FNSB departments and members of the public. To the extent prohibited by APOC, comments in support or opposition to political campaigns or ballot measures or other political actions;

Redwood (A140146) is a 13-week-old GSD mix who weighed just over 16 pounds at intake!

11/14/25 Redwood is back at the shelter due to his most recent family realizing they didn't have the time to give him like they thought they would. They did state while in their care he was a great boy! They also advised that he is on his way to being potty trained and uses potty pads like a champ! He was said to be friendly and outgoing in the home. It is to note a previous home stated Redwood can get into trouble and chew so making sure he has proper chew toys and energy outlets will set him up for success. 11/10/25 Redwood is back at the shelter and looking for his new home. While in his adoptive home they found that Redwood was too destructive for them to manage. He is teething and will chew on anything he can get his little mouth on. Providing him with appropriate chew toys is important. Redwood also found the wall to be tempting when left home unsupervised and would benefit from working on kennel training. They did state that he has a very sweet personality and was their little shadow. Redwood is looking for a home that can put in the work and help him become the best version on himself. 11/08/25 These adorable pups were brought to the shelter as strays after being found at the Fox Transfer Site in a kennel. We have no idea the true mix of breeds in these puppies, but we believe they are shepherd mixes with maybe some pittie and maybe some husky too! These pups have been very outgoing and friendly while at the shelter! Puppies can be a lot of work, particularly with training. It would be a great start to enroll them in a puppy class with a certified trainer to set them up for success! If you are interested in meeting any of these cuties, please give us a call!

A140296 was left in our overnight drop cages with no paperwork. Please fill out the proper paperwork when leaving animals in the overnight drop cages. Animals left with incomplete paperwork make it more difficult to find the owners if they are missing or being surrendered. They also have to be held for 3-5 business days as a stray before they can be evaluated for our adoption program. Please share!

A140291 & A140292 were both left outside in our parking lot in a bin. The citizen stated to care staff as they drove away, "found at dump"
Leaving animals unattended outside the animal shelter is DANGEROUS/STRESSFUL for the animals and is NOT ACCEPTABLE. During staffed hours there are care staff available to help intake animals and during unstaffed hours we have warm drop kennels available. Also, as a reminder when leaving animals in our overnight drop kennels please fill out the proper paperwork before leaving the animal. If it is a stray use the purple stray form and for surrenders use the blue colored form. Animals left without any paperwork make it more difficult to find the owners if they are missing or being surrendered. They have to be held for 3-5 business days as a stray before they can be evaluated for our adoption program. Please share!

Sunni (A140200) is a 10-month-old DSH who weighed 8.28 pounds on intake!

11/12/25 This super sweet and affectionate girl is Sunni! Sunni arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her new place to call home! She has been a pure ray of sunshine while at the shelter! Sunni uses her litter box like a champ and has had a healthy appetite! She greets the care staff enthusiastically and loves making biscuits! We do not know her experience level with children or other animals. Please ensure you make appropriate introductions with all new potential friends. Sunni is also polydactyl, meaning that she has extra toes! Her next owner will need to make sure they check and trim her nails routinely to prevent her nails from growing into her pads. Sunni is a young girl looking for her person to love! If you are interested in meeting Sunni, please let us know!

Hercules (A138056) is a 4-year-old Lab mix who weighed over 60 pounds on intake!

11/12/25 Hercules is back at the shelter due to no fault of his own. While in their care, he was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate! He was stated to do well with people of all ages including children! However, he is very high energy so if you have younger kiddos at home, please keep this in mind. Hercules was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and to know his basic commands. He could still benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer and learn some basic leash manners. Hercules was said to be playful with other dogs and has no experience with cats. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new animals. If you are interested in meeting Hercules, please let us know!

04/26/25 Mister Hercules has arrived back at the shelter after a brief adoption due to his rambunctious behavior. Hercules was said to absolutely love everyone, even the cats! While he was very friendly and affectionate toward the toddler in the home, he is also quite unaware of his body and was said to be too rough and rowdy for her. It would be a great idea to enroll Hercules in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer so he can learn some manners and body awareness! 04/10/25 These two good-looking boys are Hercules and Hades! They were surrendered to the shelter due to allergies in the home. Both these pups were stated to be housebroken, kennel trained, and ride well in a car! They would both benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on their manners. Both Hercules and Hades were described as outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dogs. At the shelter, they have been quite the goofballs. In a home setting, they were stated to do great with everyone, including babies, children, and strangers! They have no experience with other animals but their owner did state that seem interested in meeting other dogs when out on walks. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with any new potential friends. If you are interested in meeting Hercules or Hades, please let us know!
