Dental disease is one of the most common medical conditions we see in cats.
Many cats do not display signs of dental disease that their owners can detect until it is severe. If you do see evidence of tartar or gingivitis, or your cat shows signs of pain or discomfort, you should take them to your veterinarian for an oral examination.
The sooner any problems are identified, the easier and quicker they are to treat.
Oral surgery, like tooth extractions, can sound frightening but their recovery time is relatively quick. The benefits of ridding the mouth of bacteria and infections outweighs holding off on necessary dental procedures.
