Our foster Chimera, who will answer to KikiCat, is still looking for her forever home. Kiki is a sweet, playful and loving 2 year old short hair gal, who loves to chase balls and laser points and lounge on your for long sessions of pets and brushing.
She will answer when you call her! Or come get you so you can give her attention. She’s just as happy to play with her toys, lounge on her cat tree or sit in your lap purring and is an all around perfect KikiCat! ❤️🐈❤️

🚨Foster Homes Needed!🚨

Lily’s and Kitty’s owner sadly passed away. 😢 A family member has been holding them but can’t keep them past January 17th when they will end up in a rural shelter. 😩 Both can be a little shy but warm up quickly.

🐾 Lily is a 10 year old border collie mix and weighs 30 lbs.

🐾 Kitty is a 9 year old Jack Russell/Bichon mix and weighs about 20 lbs.

Both girls are spayed and can go to a foster home together or separate. If we get a commitment for them we will work to transport them on Wednesday and they’ll be ready for foster that evening. 🙏

Fostering is a wonderful way to help homeless animals. We provide vet care, supplies and support. All you need to bring is your ❤️ and 🏡.

Sammy is looking for a forever family! 🙏

Sammy is a year old and 35 lbs. This sweet pup was found as a stray and ended up in a rural shelter. Despite no one coming to claim Sammy, he's a very happy boy and doesn't let that get him down.

Sammy is all fun all the time! 🤗 He loves to go for walks, car rides, play with toys, and cuddle up on the couch for a nice movie sesh. 🥰 He’s very playful and would love a doggie sibling to keep him company. 🐶

You can't go wrong with Sammy 🐕 if you're looking for a happy-go-lucky, energetic, and super friendly puppy to join your family.

Introducing....Dash!

Dash is 2 months old, 10 lbs, and the proud owner of the cutest little folded ears ever. He loves other dogs, has been fine with cats, and very gentle with small kids.

He has been making great strides with potty training and sleeps in a crate through the night! He's great at spending time independently but also loves to hang out with other dogs and play. His foster mom likes to say he has an "old soul".

Chloe is 5 months old and 30 lbs.🐕 This girl was found as a stray with another dog and sadly no one came looking for her...which is hard to believe because she is a GEM! 🥰

Her foster mom says: “Chloe aka 'Sweetie' is as sweet as they come. She will win you over with her calm and loving demeanor. She has wonderful house manners, knows ‘sit’, and is learning how to walk on a leash. She loves other dogs and is great with kids. Her favorite hobbies include story-time, laying by the fire, and cuddling. She is the perfect addition to any family." ❤️❤️❤️

Benny is loving the snow! ❄️

He’s been waiting in the wings since July while our other pups found homes. 😩

Lea found herself in a rural shelter as just a tiny puppy. 😢 She is 4-5 months old and an Eskimo spitz/blue heeler mix weighting 10 lbs. She is super sweet, good with dogs, cats and kids. 🥰

We would love to give Lea a second chance at a loving family but we need a foster home to place her in. 🙏

Yesterday we welcomed 3 new pups 🐾 into our organization.

Our resolution is the same as it’s always been, to save the lives of Virginia’s most at-risk animals. 🙌

We need a holiday miracle! 🎄☃️🎅

Cookie and her 10 week old puppies ended up in a rural shelter days before Christmas after they were abandoned by their owner. 😢

A shelter, no matter how nice, is not a good place for such young puppies that aren’t old enough to be fully vaccinated. This adorable family needs out NOW! 🙏

Cookie is 2 yrs old and weighs 50 lbs. She’s an awesome Momma who’s super friendly, good with dogs, and loves kids. Her puppies are now 10 days old, weigh 1.4-1.9 lbs, 4 males and 2 females.

Fostering is a wonderful way to help homeless animals and is so easy. We will provide all medical care and supplies. All you need to bring in your ❤️ and 🏡.

Running a rescue is HARD. It’s a thankless job on most days and we see a lot of very sad situations. 😩

But it’s posts like this that heal our hearts and make us want to keep going! 🙌 To everyone that considers the scared, shutdown, and senior animals…you are our heroes! 🥰

We could not be happier that our sweet senior, Bear, has found a home for the holidays. 🎄This is why we do what we do! Our mission is to save the most at-risk animals in Virginia and we could not do it without our amazing adopters! ❤️❤️❤️

Introducing, Calvin! 🥳

Calvin is about 18 months old and 45 lbs. 🐕 He was found as a stray and sadly no one came looking for him. 😩

Calvin is a big puppy dog at heart.❤️ He lives for food and treats and will do almost anything for them.😁 He knows 'sit' and is working on other commands in his awesome foster home. 🤩 Calvin enjoys going on long walks, would probably make a wonderful running buddy, loves toys, is housebroken, and an all-around fun dude. 🥰

Bear needs a home for the holidays! 🎄☃️🎅

Bear was found as a stray and ended up in a rural shelter very confused and sad. 😩

When we saw his little old man face, we knew we had to rescue him and help him find a forever home. ❤️ Bear is a sweet senior who really just wants a yard to explore and a couch to nap on. He's great with other dogs and cats, is independent and low-key, lows belly and ear rubs, and is an all around good boy! 🤗

Bear has been fully vetted. He has a low grade heart murmur and the beginning stages of heart disease. His teeth were very bad and he had a dental to remove the majority of them. His bloodwork looks good and he's been neutered, is up-to-date on vaccinations, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

We aren't sure how many years that Bear has left, but we do know that they will be filled with all the love! 🥰

Visi, Jagger and London have been waiting forever for their new families! 😢

Across the board, medium to large dog adoptions have come to a screeching halt. 😩 Adopters are still adopting large breed puppies who grow into large dogs, so we don’t understand the issue. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m fact, adopting an older dog, has so many benefits! 🙌 Puppies are a pain (no offense pups 😜)…they’re mouthy, not housebroken, and generally naughty. Adult dogs tend to be housebroken, their personalities have developed so you know what you’re getting, and they actually sleep through the night! 🤗

If you’re in the market to adopt, please consider adopting a larger adult dog. 🙏 They’re just as deserving of a home as a small fluffy dog or a puppy.

Is their anything sweeter than the love between a mom and her baby?🤔 Absolutely not! 😽 Lovie 💕 and her kitten Rex are a sweet pair. They would be an amazing addition to any home.🥰 Both are litter box trained and are easy to have around. They play together and snuggle together. 🐈‍⬛❤️🐈‍⬛❤️ Lovie is a young mom (2 years) who loves pets and attention from her person but she isn't needy. She is calm and loving. She is shy at first but an angel once she comes out of her shell. 😍 Rex is a playful and sweet kitten. He would love to be adopted with his mom but would also do well in a house with another young cat or kitten friend. 😸 ✨Both Rex and Lovie have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, are up-to-date on vaccines, were treated with dewormer and flea/tick prevention.
