How long has it been since you checked the fit of your saddle?

RP’s Remote Saddle Fit Consultation gives you detailed instructions via telephone and video support direct from RP to the barn! With expert assistance every step of the way, we’ll walk you through a series of checks to identify problem areas and how to fix them. No special training is required but having a second person to assist is necessary. Full saddle fittings typically last one hour. If a fitting takes significantly longer, additional charges may apply. All remote fittings include 30 days of remote fitting support if needed.
*** Tools required are a fully charged video capable device (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.), a small metal spatula, a small plastic bag, a Phillips screwdriver and another person to assist. ***

This is ideal if you’re considering purchasing a used saddle but don't know if it’s appropriate for your horse. When was the last time you gave your saddle a once over?
Every saddle, even an RP, needs to be inspected regularly to be sure it remains safe. Remember to check your saddle a few times a year to verify that all parts are in good condition and working properly.

Here is a quick checklist to get you started:
* Check that the panels are attached symmetrically in the front. If panels aren’t symmetric, the saddle will sit off to one side. Check the bottom of your panels for pressure groves. Panels can become permanently damaged on certain saddle racks.
* Your saddle has eight screws so be sure all of them are screwed in tight.
* Discs rarely fail but occasionally the velcro delaminates or peels away. Also check for divots or tears in the discs.
* Check your billets & the stitching holding them to the webbing on the tree. Also inspect the webbing. If anything looks stretched or worn, make arrangements to have it repaired. Consider replacing your leather billets with biothane for longer life & less maintenance. Fyi, our replacement biothane billets are now on sale for $5.00 each! square.link/u/APbQKQFe
* Grab your saddle by the panels and give it a shake. If anything comes loose, you may want to upgrade your velcro or discs.
