We are sorry to announce that due to staffing shortages we will be closing on Saturday’s as of July 16th. We hope that this change will be temporary and that we will be able to return to our normal business hours at some point in the near future. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. We will be reaching out to all individuals who already have appointments scheduled on Saturday’s in the future to move those visits to a different day. If you feel that your pet needs emergency care over the weekend we recommend SPEC or SAGE, Concord.

Barney & Russum Animal Clinic is not longer accepting new clients into our practice for the next 6 weeks. We have an amazing group of existing clients who deserve our best care and attention. This pause in accepting new clients is being done to provide more timely appointments for those who already in our practice. We are prioritizing appointments in order of medical need. We will continue to see new pets from our already established clients.

We will be reassessing the situation on a regular basis and will be accepting new clients as soon as possible. Please check back on our website and page.

Thank you for your loyal support,

Heartworm is a deadly disease spread by mosquitos, caused by mosquito bites, that affects dogs and cats specifically here in Solano County and the surrounding areas, Northern California, and many places located south in the US. There are no approved heartworm treatments for cats, which is why it’s especially important to protect our feline friends.
The good news is that heartworm is easily preventable with monthly medication, such as Revolution Plus and Bravecto Plus for cats, and Heartgard, Revolution, and Simparica Trio for dogs!
We recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our experienced veterinarians to discuss which preventative is right for your pet, and to receive a single-dose of one of the many heartworm preventatives we offer!
