I’ve always said the hardest part of owning a dog isn’t cleaning up an accident they made on your carpet, or replacing the new shoes they chewed, or training them through the puppy phase, or wearing the new shirt they tore a hole in, or even the vet bills. The hardest part of owning a dog is the day you have to say goodbye.

Today was a hard one.

To Sir’s family- thanks for giving him nothing but love every day of his life up until the last. He was so blessed to have you guys as his and I know he fell in love with you the first time you came and saw the puppies. And thanks to his sweet family for letting me see him before they had to say their final goodbyes. It meant more to me than you know. Sir had the best! ❤️

There’s a lot of joys in this sweet thing I get to call a job but it comes with investing so much of yourself in the lives of these dogs and their families. I love them just as much, if not more, as when I sent them off to their forever homes. This litter will always have a special place in my heart as it was my first. Sir always had that sweet smile on his face, he was spunky, but had such a sweet heart of gold. Rest easy sweet Sir you were a special one. 🤎

Mother Mabel wants to wish her second litter babies a HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

As of yesterday these “little” sweeties turned ONE !!! 🥳🐶‼️

I say it all the time and I will continue to- I can’t thank the families that ended up with these more. I fall short of words when my heart is overflowing with appreciation and joy I am SO blessed with such loving families that have done nothing but love and spoil these babies. So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart all your babies are beautiful!

My dream and goal has and always will be to raise dogs for the love of this breed and to continue honoring their beautiful history. Thanks for following along on a little peak into my dreams! Here’s a few ”now and then” photos. I miss these babies like crazy but know they are in the best families! 🤍

Small Breeding/Puppy Update ‼️

Nora & Georgia have been staying busy this summer working on all their testings since they both turned two this year. All testings have been going well and we are just waiting on one more for Miss Nora 😀🎉

Plans (that are always up in the air and depending on whatever is best for the dogs) are to hopefully have a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog litter & a purebred Golden Retriever litter this year. (I’m still on the hunt for a stud for Miss Georgia)

👀Veterinary Ophthalmology Animal Eye Clinic in Minneapolis/ St. Paul was wonderful to work with and I was so happy with how patient and kind the staff was.
♥️The Cardiology Unit at the U of M was great and staffed with the sweetest people. I think the dogs thought they were getting to go to school for the day and absolutely loved it.
🐾And of course our local vet clinic, Willow Pet Hospital, has helped with various other ones and I always have to remind others how much we love our ladies there.💗

I knew these two had great hearts…now they are just certified 😉🎉♥️✅

I’m getting all the pupdates and I get so excited each time! Here we have sweet Trixie (Orange Collar) from Mabel’s FIRST litter. She seems like she’s quite the good little traveler and she looks like she is living a more adventurous life than me…😂🤩

Couldn’t she fit right in a magazine?😍🐾🧡

Another pupdate on “little” green collar! Norman is handsome as ever and being loved beyond measure. He still loves laying in the grass I hear! 😉💚🐾 (His little last pink in his nose is too cute and those soft eyes would get me every time🥹🥰)

Nothing warms my heart more than seeing & hearing updates on Mabel’s puppies!

Here’s a sweet update of Koda (yellow collar) from last litter. I got an update that Koda’s vet diagnosed her as “the prettiest puppy ever” and I don’t disagree…😉😍💛

Little Gray 🤍🐾

When your bark is that powerful it knocks you over…😂🙈🤍🐾

We added a new toy!! 🛝🐾 I wanted one of these last litter but never got around to it and this year I’m so glad I did. 10 minutes in and they are already obsessed! This slide will obviously keep them entertained but it will also help introduce them to stairs and the motion of climbing and even falling down things to help them not get too spooked. It’s so fun seeing them grow and learn new things every day. Oh they can be messy but I’m just thankful I have 9 sweet healthy babies to clean up after🙈😂🤍

I literally teared up making this because I love the history of dogs and I love Mabel 🤍😅 Fun fact about the Bernese Mountain Dogs that I have shared on here before is that they were used on the farm in Switzerland back in the day. And because of their sturdy shoulders they were used to carry carts full of milk to the village. They were companions & guard dogs. But most importantly one of the most loyal and sweet dog there was & still is. 🤍 If you have a dog, I challenge you to look up their history! It tells so much about a dog and it’s beautiful!

I know I canceled dog walks so dogs don’t have to be outside long periods of time but apparently my dogs think otherwise 🤣 negative 10° & the life of a berner… won’t come in until I go out and get her🙈❄️🐾🤍
