TECHNICAL TUESDAY: Did you know a local vet has increased their ability to serve our community? This is a Cone Beam CT Scanner that takes 360 degrees of x-ray of an area about the size of a dogs head. It takes 24 seconds to scan and WHITEHALL ANIMAL CLINIC can see bone and soft tissue. They can treat all pets in the area and the results go directly back to your vet. CT scans, scopes, ultrasound, laparoscopic spays, or stomach tacks. Read more below directly from Dr. Hartman:
“We can see it as X-rays in black, grays and white but we can also convert it to MRI-like imaging with 3D reconstruction. We can have just bone or bone and soft tissue. We can make adjust for specific things like looking at vessels, muscles, joints, etc. With those scans, we can “slice” through our images looking at the entire patient in several ways- like from front to back, top to bottom, or left to right. It lets us see better inside the patient and is great for dental extraction planning, fracture repair planning, or looking for causes of neurologic or intestinal disease. Using contrast, we can highlight specific areas, organs, and vessels. Advanced Veterinary Imaging & Diagnostics will be referral only. Their regular vet needs to refer them and we will schedule an appointment as soon as possible after receiving the referral and records. We will get the diagnostics done, send images out to a board certified specialist to read, review, and report on and send that directly to the referring vet so they can continue with the patients regular care. I want to help all pets and pet parents in the area, but as only one vet, I can’t do that if they are all my patients. This is a way to help everyone- the pets, the pet parents, and other vets who wish they had accessible and affordable advanced imaging options.”
