SPOTLIGHT SUNDAY: Meet Picasso! He is a GOLDEN Doodle. Yes, a golden doodle that is black. Goldendoodles can be black if both of their parents, a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, carry a dominant black coat trait. The black coat trait is represented by a capital B in color genetics, so a dog with two copies of the trait (B/B) will always pass at least one copy to its offspring. A dog with one copy of the trait (B/b) can pass it on to 50% of its offspring. Black Goldendoodles are rare and are usually all black with little to no white markings. When looking for a black Goldendoodle puppy, you can try to find one whose parents have produced black Goldendoodles before. Our Picasso is the sweetest and lives his best life each day!!! He enjoys visiting Wags and Whiskers!
