Did you know that one in three pets will go missing in their lifetime? The risk is even higher with the holidays quickly approaching. If you're expecting company, ensure your pet is in a safe location so they don't slip out of the house when people are coming and going. If you can, set them up in a separate room. This will help keep them from escaping and provide a safe location if they're anxious around new people. Make sure they have access to food, water, and familiar comfort items to help them relax.
If your pet doesn't have a collar or ID tags, now is an excellent time to get them. If they do, check that the ID tags are still legible. If your pet has a microchip, ensure it is registered, and your contact information is up-to-date. If you're like us, you probably have hundreds of photos of your pets on your phones. It's a good time to check that you have a clear photo that shows all of your pet in case they go missing.
If the unthinkable happens and your pet goes missing, we are here to help. You can file a Lost Pet Report on the Lollypop Farm website and sign up for our Lost2Found Pet Alerts. Text LPFLOST to 844-LPFLOST (844-573-5678).
